Default PSA: Optic Retail is SSSSP compared to Prizm

Super small size, but just busted 3 Rack boxes (Cellos for the Prizm heads). I hit two Silver rookies out of all 3 boxes and two Purple rookies. Just a heads up that I think Optic might be very short printed compared to Prizm.

There is an auto on average per cello box though.

So wait, are you trying to say that Optic is short printed compared to Prizm or that Silver/color is short printed?

Will be interesting to keep an eye on how retail compares to hobby.

My guess is that unless OP just ran into some bad cases that panini watered down retail

Are you saying you opened 3 hanger boxes (10-15$ per box). Or are you saying you opened hanger boxes with 10-12 hangers per box that cost a couple hundred dollars.

If its 3 boxes at 30-50 total cost i think that sounds similar to prizm.

I wish we could see a FOTL box already. Last year the signatures set was only in retail and dominators was just in Hobby. I wonder if that will be the case this year as well, which would be why the Signatures set is so watered down.

I think Panini printed the hell out of retail and color is going to be extremely hard to hit.

Makes sense... they probably want to avoid watering down color in retail... is my guess.

Overall, what was your return on investment like?

I was lucky and hit a Mitchell Silver Holo. Other one was Zach Collins. Some nice Blue Velocities too. Probably break even if I sell just the Blues and Mitchell..

At least you hit the right one.

We'll have to wait till hobby but maybe they will be SP'd and you'll come out ahead.

What was the average breakdown per "cello"...I was thinking it would be 1 holo and a couple inserts but it would be nice to know for sure.

My thoughts as well. Similar to 2014 Topps Chrome football.
Plus the design is just hideous.

No more Hangers. Doing Cello packs instead just like Optic NFL.

Blowout has (12 pack) Cello boxes currently $149.95, but that might not hold up if silver/color are hard to pull. SRP is $120.

Funny you should mention that; it seems like they are just about the only retailer selling Cello boxes and just a few eBay sellers with them.

I remember Prizm being able to be found all over the place when it first dropped. Kinda another reason I think retail might be extremely SP and not flooded like Prizm.

This thread was created to try to increase his return on investment. Lol

Sorry bud but four silvers in a 12 pack box is not SSSSP.... it’s 1:3 packs.

Topps Heritage Baseball Thowback Variations are considered SSP and they are 1:6,573 packs.

There are 36 packs in a box. I hit 3-4 per box. Compared to Silver Prizm they are SSP.

If cards are harder to hit, that usually means print went up, not down. Nothing ill intended by that comment, just pointing it out.

I'm excited to see more breaks, especially Hobby.

However, I was kinda posting with Retail in mind. Not anything like Prizm I suspect.
