I think that there were other stuff included last year (the #'d Simmons cards, etc). Also more racing and soccer.
I'd have bought more slots but the chances of soccer/racing/USA baseball box is too high

I was able to trade away the racing last year and my kid will love the soccer boxes
But the Stars and Stripes baseball is rough

Last year you had the Simmons, the 1/1 badge, the panini instant lonzo ball which was a couple hundred, the 15,000 and 2500 point cards, black boxes and the silver boxes with extra pack, roller bag with swag.

This time around you are looking at 4 bonus hits in 228 spots. 1 in 57 chance. I went crazy on these breaks last year, and while it's still not bad value, the risk/reward isn't quite worth it to me at this point.

We're also talking about a break where there are still 2 weeks of BST, so you're talking about more time than that before you get your cards - and some of these boxes may be substantially lower in price by that time.

Yeah I hear what you are saying. Last year Grand Reserve Basketball boxes had an original price of $250 and now are selling for about $80!
Hopefully the boxes this year won't drop that much, but almost certain that many will drop some.

The problem with the first one is that nobody knows completely what's going to be in it. The next ones that include everything will be more encompassing but may also cost a bit more.

The are not Super VIP breaks. Last year I basically ran an object lesson on how to make the Super VIP tickets valuable. The result is that this year BO was not able to get any Super VIP passes and there isn't enough room for the boys and I to attend the event this year. Kind of a sore subject with me right now.

Last year we had 3 Super VIP passes and we gave the extra experience part of the pass away so that others could enjoy it instead.

I wanted to give my group the first opportunity before I opened it up like that. I actually thought it would fill in 24hrs. It can be hard to tell sometimes.

So its sounds like you wont be doing more/bigger? Last year they seemed to get better each time? More expensive, but potential hits were big, and the boxes got better. I had been saving a bit for them, but maybe time to reconsider.

did the National Convention punish BO or something because of how you guys distributed those passes or something? doesnt seem right if thats the case

I am not sure. I know BO will be doing more, but it won't be like last year with the Super VIP prizes because we don't have any Super VIP passes.

I would expect this one to get better and any new ones to also be different.

Nah. Nothing to do with the convention at all. It has everything to do with how Panini distributed passes. If this had been a stagnant or down year, passes might still be available.
