It looks like Vlad jr is doing his thing on the side fields based off this HR trot he just posted.

LOL!!!

If he rosters and gets at all associated with Ohtani in the 2-way hype, I'll be digging through the Schafer box and dumping every bit of it.

Victor Robles now 3-for-7 with a double, 2 RBI and a walk to begin his spring.

Every year when I watch Spring, I wonder if outfielders completely forgot how to play?
So many easy outs turning into 2B’s....nobody IMO looks amazing yet, all prospects are performing as expected.

Kyle Tucker is the real deal. Second day in a row with a HR. No cheap shot either. Oppo shot to left.

Kopech with 2.0 IP and 3Ks. No BBs on 51 pitches. I’d consider that a nice start to Spring Training.

Solid. Wish he was a bit more efficient with his pitches though.

Agreed, but Strike out guys tend to have high pitch counts.

If there is a pitcher who can get national attention it's him and his fastball

Chris Shaw with a base hit, yea baby, lol!

Right, but 51 pitches for 2 innings is crazy high. Wouldn't even get a decision if that pitch/inning ratio played out for a full start.

I can only hope he was working on developing his changeup.

Kopech fan here, but I agree with the pitch count concern. I watched the first two innings, and it looked like the A’s just decided no to swing at anything off-speed. I mean, many of the offerings were balls, but most were close to the strike zone and everything was low - which is what u want to see from the change up and slider.

I’m not pitching guru, but he will probably have to throw the change and slider more consistently for a strike to get Big league hitters out. U like the guys in the minors, they are more able to turn around the heat and will sit on the FB if he can’t throw the breaking stuff for a strike.

All that said, he looked really good.

Kingery 3-3 Game tying homer in the 9th
Andujar 2-2 Walk-off Homer
Francisco Mejia 1-1 2-run HR
Ryan McMahon 2-3 and looking good.

Looked like Burger ruptured his achilles. Raw deal.

Perfect example of a high floor/ high ceiling prospect. I think he really excels this year.

51 pitches (and no walks) from a strikeout pitcher in 2 innings isn't a good sign.

It means that he was either giving up hits, or batters were regularly fouling off his pitches

Was happy to see Moran traded somewhere he could have a shot at starting, hopefully that will happen to Davis too!

I see that a lot of players have been "assigned to" their Big League teams in the past few days.
While some are "invited non-roster" to the Spring Training.

What is the difference between these two?

Being a Japanese baseball fan, I follow Gosuke Katoh's movement once in a while and see that he was "assigned" to the Yankees on Feb 25th, and also see his name now in the 40 man roster.
Does this mean that he might get some appearance in Spring Training games, and if he stays on the 40 man roster, he have chance to get a call-up during the season (though very unlikely)?
