Saw a youtube video highlighting this 'interesting' phenomenon. Had to check it out for myself.

I've been sorting a lot the past week for trades. Found one and listed it for $3.50 and it sold. I've come across 25 more and listed most of them at the same 3.50. No others have sold.

Throw one in a GMA case, manipulate that auction and a few more, and then try to dump a bunch of cards that aren't worth a penny. I'm sure this isn't the first time something like this has been done.

Burbank sold 2 at 99cents, ended the listing and relisted at $2.99 then sold 61 of them to she same guy.

I'm not sure if this guy realizes he could pick up cases of sealed wax that contains hundreds/thousands of Mr. Madrid for the price he's paying.

Too bad Madrid played before the era of rare numbered mega mojo sick hitz. Would love to see his stuff pumped up to Omar Vizquel levels.

Nevertheless, I would persist. Let the other guyz do the heavy lifting of promoting the legend of Alex Madrid. Tree fiddy is the perfect price for the card, as long as it includes Free Shipping.

I wish I knew the legend of Alex Madrid, I am sure it is epic. But for some reason, the only image my baseball card addled mind can generate is 2013 Topps Sries One Alex Gonzalez, whoever that was.

Maybe the best part is the notation “DP” - maybe there are twice as many of these cards and twice as much money to be made. Though the idea of a Double Printed late 1980s Donruss card can probably create actual nightmares.

It’s gonna be a long off-season.

I think what really happened is that Madrid probably became something in his community (Coach, Teacher, Etc., Etc.) or he has a signing and its just supply/demand/timing

A. People with fake sales to artificially create value.

B. Money laundering scheme.

C. 1 or more of the 6 variations of the Madrid card is sought after. Although unlikely as there's 6 of Griffey and ones going crazy.
