Sorry if this is not the right place for this...do we think it would be a good idea...or even doable, to, along with the redemption end dates have a place where we list what auto's are redemption and which autos are actually already in the boxes? With 2016 Heritage being all the rage right now...

I was thinking maybe a solid way to collect for now and the future would be to when I buy a box alway buy 1 extra box to put away to either bust on a later occasion, or maybe even save it for my kid in 10-20 years (I actually do have this self control)

However, buying a box where a lot of the big names are redemption's would make this a bad strategy (I think?). Just an idea, hope its not a terrible one.

EDIT: Just noticed someone else had this idea earlier after finally getting up to page 3 of this thread. Never mind.

I would certainly be willing to start listing the names of player redemptions, but I would definitely need input from fellow BO members. I can usually find the redemption dates myself, but trying to find all of the players would be daunting.

In addition, I don't think we'd need to worry about Panini products as much, but I can certainly start adding players to the Topps products. I just ask for other BO members to help me get the lists started. There's also one of these in the football thread, and I'd be willing to add player names to that as well.

Pulled 2014 Archives tripe auto redemption card of Matheny, d'Arnaud and Pudge (ATA-DMR) and still waiting....expires next May !

I guess the question is does Topps always honour their redemptions ? Also pulled a 2015 GQ Abreu gold card auto and got that in a few months. But this is harder for them to get, I understand. Are these ever guaranteed and is the expiry for them or us to submit the code ?? Thanks

Once you have the code entered, you can wait it out and hope they get your card 'someday.' Or, you can contact them and start discussing a replacement card(s). The one common problem with Topps, is that you and they won't necessarily agree on a fair value. If you can come to a compromise, you might be able to get a replacement you're happy with, or you can inquire about your original card and hear what they have to say about that particular card.

Either way, once the code is entered, you don't need to worry about the expiration date. At that point, they should, and most likely will, honor it.

2013 Topps Chrome (Arenado, Ryu, & a bunch more are redemptions)
2013 Topps Finest (Not sure here, but I would imagine same names as Chrome)
2013 Bowman Chrome
2013 Topps Holiday Box
2013 Topps Heritage Minors

If you plan on busting any of these, get cracking!

It's important to note that nearly all TOPPS 2011-2013 STAR & SUPERSTAR $$$ ($50.00+ mainly) Redemptions were STOLEN by Topps' own Duryea, PA employees in 2012. Then Topps closed that office for several months and fired almost everyone. When they reopened they had all new employees. Michael Eisner likely did something awful to these employees to cause almost all of them to gang up and rob the place blind!

This is what caused nearly all of us to wait 3+ years to get our redemptions (the relatively few who got the actual cards they were owed). Everyone else got JUNK replacements of common players with very low serial numbers that Topps got Beckett Online to list VERY HIGH. This was the work of the new women running Topps Customer Service: Sabrina and Minerva. Both know NOTHING about our hobby or sports at all and were forcing many collectors to take cards they NEVER WANTED! In my mind, I can never trust Topps again as I lost several hundred in this fiasco.

I got this story from a Topps Customer Service employee on the phone, then confirmed it a week later with a CS Supervisor & both stories matched-up near exactly.

Definitely not as long as any of the players were considered "stars" in 2012-13. I never got my 2013 Triple Threads 6-player Auto/Relic Double Combo Book w/Weeden, T.Richardson, Dalton, G.Bernard, Flacco, & Ray Rice. Most of these players were considered "stars" when I entered this redemption in late 2013.

Minerva (Topps CS witch) tells me in mid-2015 that this card is worth only $100.00 now. I told her she was out of her mind, first of all they should be using the price when we entered these cards as it's not our fault that their employees stole all of these cards! She didn't disagree that the cards were stolen, then she states "Topps Executives set what price to go by, and we can't change that.".

I will never trust Topps again in my whole life after hearing that one!

She swears she looked it up twice on Beckett Online's Football Price Guide (which most collectors don't waste their money on, so how do we argue with Topps???) and it's $100.00.

So I got stuck accepting a 2014 Five-Star Adrian Peterson On Card Autograph/multi-color Patch #/25 for the six player auto/relic book. That was far better than accepting a random card because they send so many totally worthless cards it's not worth the risk.

So sorry to give such bad news...
