Default Thoughts on Jordan STICKER AUTOS

I think Jordan auto cards are some of the safest investments in the hobby.
Long term does anyone think his sticker auto cards will be significantly less collectable/valuable?
I figure a slight difference but would love to hear other opinions

Sticker auto with Bulls uniform, collectible/valuable.
Sticker auto with college uniform, less collectible/less valuable.

So long as Upper Deck has Jordan in contract and they aren't able to make NBA or NCAA cards, the value for Jordan auto cards is good. However if Jordan leaves UD or UD is able to make NBA and/or NCAA cards again, then the current values will go down as there will be more cards available. I remember about 5 years ago, Jordan's UNC auto cards were slowly dropping and starting to get close to $200.
It's all about supply and demand, as long as the supply doesn't increase the demand will outweigh the supply and thus continue to drive up the value. However if the supply starts flowing again, then we could see the value drop. The best investment in terms of Jordan autos are those from his playing days.

for me it goes

on card
(daylight)
sticker
no auto

theres just something far too awesome about knowing the guy held/touched the card to sign it, vs having a sheet of 100 stickers to sign.

as mentioned, sticker is better than nothing fore sure- but its easy to see why there is a lust for on-card and the premiums it carries.

I saw plenty of Jordan sticker autos at the National in Cleveland that people were asking north of $4k for. Safe to say they will hold some value

I hope they hold value, since mine is!

I will say though, I have a standing offer on this card that is nearly 3x what I paid for it roughly 6 years ago, so it's done ok so far!

Nice Card. What's 3x what you paid? Totally believe it. Heck, even some of my UNC Autos are double or more what I paid a few years ago. Bulls ones 3x or more like you said.

Have a standing offer of $2k. So obviously I'm in it for not that much lol. I think at open auction it would bring a little more than that, maybe $2500-$3k I'm not sure. Seems like his nicer sticker autos usually command somewhere near that range, but this card in particular hasn't sold in years.

I've toyed with the idea of selling it, but only if I can procure an MJ buyback auto (a 1995-96 SP one as that's my favorite MJ card!) to replace it.

EDIT: CRAP, another buy back of the 95-96 SP MJ base card is up for auction now! A 9.5 sold for $3500, this one is a BGS 9 and it's already over $1500 with 8 days left. I might throw this up on here and on Ebay to see what kind of offers I get lol.

I'm not a fan of sticker autos, but MJ stuff really is just supply/demand and the supply isn't anywhere near the demand right now.

This thread is great if anyone hasn't seen it:

To me a Sticker Auto is a sticker auto. Jordan or not there are very few times I buy a sticker auto card.

+1 however collectors should make sure fading has not begun. IMO once it starts its too late especially once encapsulated.

There are some nicely done sticker Autos and some not so nicely done ones. I'm not all anti-sticker like some. Would I prefer on-card, sure, but if it looks nice I'll take it.
