I disagree on 2015 yes it’s his RC but it’s already high the Yankees uni Auto will continue to grow so now is best time to buy

Wait for Yankee RC logo stuff
2015 Chrome is first prospect but in cubs uni Chrome auto in Yankee uni is a 2nd prospect card Wait for Yankee RC logo. Those will be most sought after IMO

Gleyber is an interesting case because he also has non Topps 2013 cards. I don't think he has any 2014 stuff and then has first licensed Topps stuff in 2015 but as said in Cubs unis too.
I just hope he's ready to go and doesn't have too much rust from long layoff and recovery. |

I would go with his 2015 Chrome auto.
Yes they’re in Cubs uniform, but it’s still his true prospect auto and they’ve been selling much better than any of his other autos.

Always the one that says 1st Bowman Chrome... 2015 for Gleyber, even in the Cubs uni this will always be his best and most valuable card...

This would normally be true but Yankee fans with deep pockets are an interesting bunch. I’d bet that the heritage rc auto in Yankee uni will be the top dawg in the future. I’d shell out more cash for that then the 2015 cubs uni chrome auto

![]() Me too. I made a few bucks flipping a 2015 purple auto and now I’m just waiting for that Real One to come out. It’s gonna be mayhem the first few weeks of release lol

True, but we can count on the modern card market; while his cards will initially be priced as if he is Babe Ruth or The Mick before he even takes a swing, there will be a very deep depression when he debuts and doesn't meet expectations by posting a batting average over 1.000

I always try to tell myself that. I always say wait for the dip. But then one comes up an auction and I can’t help myself but overpay so I can buy it, look at it for 5 minutes and then put it in a dark drawer for the next 6 months....

His red ink won’t compare to a 15 BC color Auto... Even a blue or green will be double the value of a red ink psa 10... This isn’t even debatable...

So true! Same here. Especially for the rarer cards, if you're a Yankee collector and the price is no biggie get the bird in hand. Or the Gleyber. I wound up getting one of his BC Cubs Auto cards yet I sense it's just a placeholder until I get a nice Yankee uni RC.

I was wondering the same thing myself when considering if the cubs or Yankees will be more desirable auto in the future — and settled on the 2015 being the more valuable one.
There’s been an uptick in his non auto Yankees cards, especially the chrome refractors. Maybe someone here will know this offhand before I go and try to find the answer. Which was his first Yankees card? Wasn’t it 2016 Bowman’s best? |

The 2017 bowman auto isn’t a bad 2nd option and more affordable than the 2015 BC.

I usually go for the first Bowman card as well but in this case I would go for the 2017 cards for two reason - the obvious reason is the Yankees uniform but also the action photos and designs in the 2017 Bowmans are better in my opinion. I am really not much of a fan of the 2015 Bowman design.

Aesthetically the 17 auto is best right now, but the red ink will replace it...

What if he is not a life long Yankee? What if he is like Robbie Cano, a very good player, but ends with another team half way through his career. Then what do you buy? This is why I'm not a prospector. More power to those that do.

If you’re prospecting and still holding then you’re doing it wrong IMO. There’s still a decent amount of room left in Gleyber but the easy sweat free money was already made when he was a $40-$60 base auto. I’m gonna buy a heritage RC auto when it comes out for my Yankee PC, not bc it’s gonna be worth a ton of money and I’m gonna sell it for profit. If he gets traded, I sell and move that money into something else for my PC. Just an FYI, I bought 2 Gleyber base for under $50 when he was still a cub, sold them for over $200 each. Bought a purple for I think $170 when he became a Yankee and sold it for $455 after it gemmed. Now onto the next prospect bc the next Gleyber card I get will be PC and hopefully is already paid for
