Unbelievable..
Signing autos for kids while selling death to parents.
If this is true, I hope they put him in a box for the next century.

They wouldn't want to jump to any conclusions just to break a story before they have the facts...

NBC Sports has the details on just the traffic stop. MLB and Red Sox deny any knowledge of it.

This sounds more like his scumbags buddies needed some "seed" money that he probably gave them and they wrapped him up in all of it because his friends are snitches.

Well the Sawks are playing on Fox and they haven't said squat about this situation. Looks like MLB is trying to keep this on the down low big time.

MLB game commentators do not report news, especially concerning someone who is not even on the roster of either team.

Love when reporters and media try to be first, especially when it might be a big story, then have to walk away with egg all over their face. Yet no apology will be issued Michele Mcphee, or any other reporter for that matter, for causing Hanley’s name being in the news for the wrong reasons and possibly causing teams to not sign him.

Well put,but as usual with the media why let facts get in the way of a juicy lie.

It's BS that the Red Sox deny knowing anything about this.....the timeline is all too convenient for his release and it gave them a reason to do it without admitting the actual reasons to the public.

Now that this story came out, they pretend like it was a managerial decision alone, yyyaaahhhhh right.

Read the updated story. It now doesn't appear as though he did anything wrong, other than have an idiot friend who tried to namedrop the only celeb he knew in a feeble attempt to get out of a police search. Didn't work, drugs founds, Hanley seems to be cleared.

In regards to the news today, you guys nailed it. It's more important to be first than it is to be right, and there are rarely any repercussions for getting it dead wrong. Reminds me of this great scene from the HBO show Newsroom

I remember reading that Ramirez was released so that he wouldn't get the necessary at bats this year so that his ridiculously expensive option next year wouldn't kick in.
