Default 2017 Chrome for $99?

I see BO is having a sale on regular 2017 Topps Chrome baseball. Do you guys think it's worth it at the price point of $99/box? And saw they raised the limit to 12 per household.. Really tempting.. Autos I've gotten so far were crap but pulled some really nice inserts... Thoughts?

Nothing of extreme value but pulled a Belly Prism refractor, a Kris Bryant photo variation and a bonus Trea Turner sophomore stat lines auto.. Was pretty nice for 2 regular boxes. Plus besides the money, Chrome has always been a fun break. Just quite disappointed about the lack of color autos.

Agreed the TC was traditionally a fun break but the price hike this year isn't worth it to me.

Also, the photo variation SP's are the biggest gimmick ever. They are hardly SP'd at all and not even part of the regular set to attract set builders.

Probably the fact that most of us weren't even in the ballpark at $150, and certainly not at $170. My closest LCS is over an hour away. Their $120 was tempting, but not enough to drive that far for it. At the current "sale" price, it was finally at a point I was willing to gamble on. I like the product and it is one of the few that I'll buy each year. So when I saw BO tweet last night I ordered one. They've re-upped a few times, so hopefully others like me have had a chance to get their single box.

Topps website had them for $81 and I got killed with the bunch I bought!
the color ref. look like crap and for autos it's Belly or Judge or bust, heck I've seen the 15 CASES of jumbo and hobby in the group breaks here on Blowout and have seen maybe 4 decent cards?(and zero Judge autos)

Definitely makes sense but I just sold the photo variation for $31 so that was a nice surprise.. Plus the photo of Kris is hilarious. Maybe I'll pass on this then. You guys know way more than me. I'm just recently getting into breaking baseball moving over from football. I can't stand Panini anymore.

Yeah, sell early and it's all good but just wait. I think I figured that you're 6x more likely to get a player's SSP then that same player's Blue Refractor.

Considering what people were pulling in Allen and Ginter, I'd bust Chrome at $99 at least you wouldnt get Topps employee sigs.

They're pointless when they have color numbered refractors for the variations.

I was gonna pre order 2 boxes of Chrome back when they first appeared on BO site for $64.95 but vacation came for a family of 5 & I put cards aside, boxes anyway. Kinda glad I didn't now with all the dings & damaged cards I've read about getting pulled & not much in color.Think I'll just get some singles for the PCs.

Pretty sure most of the factory damaged cards are in retail. I picked up one of those big blasters with the Xfractor packs yesterday and finally hit some retail that didn't have any corner damage.

I agree. I bought 3 cases and have not cracked them and most likely never will. I am better off waiting till world series and selling them off as sealed cases or next year. To big of a gamble to crack them
