This sentence seems a bit awkward and wierd english and also could it be relating to the "error they made with sunrise and sunset..."
"That former Mayor Modell resigned his post so quickly is seen as further proof that something untoward was going on at 127 Main Street."

Seems like it's proper, just formal, although untoward is not a common word. Would be a little smoother if "That" was "The fact that".

here's the rest of the sentence, too...
"That former Mayor Modell resigned his post so quickly is seen as further proof that something untoward was going on at 127 Main Street."and the lack of charges and the peripatetic pace of the investigation and replacement election have spawned a school of thought inclined towards the conspiratorial."
Sorry for not having the complete sentence...

Seems like there are a lot of and's if that is the whole sentence.

Not just that sentence, but a bunch of the words or phrases seem wierd or completely unnecessary....

I did some investigating and found a man on the inside. My source sent me some of the questions from the meeting that were not tweeted. I thought I would share them with you guys.

Dan Proot
I was at the bowling alley last night, and saw a long haired man calling himself "The Dude". Is he a suspect?

Deputy Danny Young
"The Dude" is wanted for questioning in an unrelated property theft case. A missing rug, I believe. He is not a suspect.

Unidentified Person in Mask
There are rumors of a green van with the words Mystery Machine painted on the side of it. It has been driving around town. Are they here to help?

Sheriff Dave Kring
There are a lot of roads here, and cars drive on them. Vans are like cars, driving on roads. Next Question.

Jake Perry
Is it true that Guttman's Residence is a modest suburban home with a front door and a side gate leading to a back yard?

Deputy Danny Young
You are off track. Follow the instructions. Turn Back now.

Larry Mudlin
Are you guys going to call in Batman to help?

Sheriff Dave Kring
Really? Thats a clown question bro.

Shouted from the Crowd
What were Lennie's Last words?

Sheriff Dave Kring
We believe they were "What the hell has happened to the Dodgers?"

Im sure this is full of clues. Somebody may need this to bust this case wide open. You are welcome.

I dont know but your Twins print plates suck. please stop spamming them.

I most certainly AM a suspect.
but I ate that rug so you will never prove it
And.....
Dan is just a little poser wannabe..so pathetic..he even steals his older brothers nickname!
Dave is the real deal

Leads as in you're closer figuring out who the killer was? Or you actually have some instructions on what the next step is?

Makes sense. I have someone I'm working on too but not really sure what to do even if it's the right person.

Just what I was thinking. If we figure out the killer what do we do? Tweet at Topps? Post on the blog?

I agree, I think more people would try to solve this if we knew what to do when finding the killer. Do we need to explain how we solved it, step by step ? Who should we contact ? Can it be solved right now or do we still need to wait for even more tweets/infos/whatnot ?

I would actually work hard trying to figure this if I knew what to do IF I solve anything... Instead I just watch because I'm intrigued and hope someone on this board wins first.

I think in the past, you actually got the instructions to submit the answer as you solved the code...

Usually, "cracking the code" means that it gives you the message of what to do next
