Default CLEVELAND, you are about to make the mistake of a lifetime!

You can agree or disagree

I'm a cavs fan and if we get rid of wiggins I smell huge trouble

This team needs hardworking healthy players

Love will get injured atleast once this year, he won't be playing any defense, and I just don't want him

Meanwhile this wiggins kid will play his heart out every night

SO IM TELLING YOU NOW

DONT DO IT CAVS

I tend to agree that it is unnecessary.

I agree also, they will regret this move if it happens. i think they can contend with the team as is.

You can look at every single trade and say that someone will get injured, and therefore make the trade bad. That is not unique to this trade.

Basically, Cleveland will be trading potential for the sure thing. Even if Wiggins turns out to be an above average player, maybe an all star a time or two, The trade still would have made sense, because the Cavs window is NOW. You need superstars to win in this league, and LeBron/Love/Kyrie would be better than LeBron/Wiggins/Kyrie right now.

Could Wiggins be a multiple-time all-star? Sure, but he could also become a role player. It's not a sure thing. Wolves are taking a chance that Bennett or Wiggins becomes someone special. They wouldn't be taking this shot if Love was willing to sign an extension, because they know Love is more valuable, if he wanted to play for them.

Kevin Love is so much better than you realise.

Why take a chance on Wiggins' potential when you can get Kevin Love? He's a top 2 power forward in the league and a brilliant second option behind LeBron James.

Irving, LeBron, Love. That is a sickeningly good trio of proven talent. Why waste the next few years hoping Wiggins develops into a star when you can run with Irving, LeBron and Love?

Because love is injury prone and plays no defense

10 months from now when Lebron, Love and Kyrie are pouring champagne on each other, holding up the Championship trophy, we can all look back at this thread and see what a mistake it was.

He played 77 games last year despite taking some of the hardest knocks I've seen since 1980s basketball.

I watched all 77 of those games and I can tell you that, although he's not a great shot-blocker or help defender, he is a solid positional defender in the post.

I'm confident that, with less onus on him to shoulder the offensive load, he can devote more of his energy to the defensive end.

Put it this way, metsplaya123, the Cavs have the opportunity to get the best passing big man in the league who also happens to be the best rebounder at his position and the best three point shooter at his position.... without giving up either of their top two players.

"Nah, F that, let's keep the rookie!"

With the Paul George injury, I wonder if it will play a factor in a deal NOT getting done.

I saw the Pacers and Bulls as being the top 2 teams in the East. The Heat are older and LeBronless. The Knicks haven't really upgraded, nor has any other Eastern Conf team. I mean, there may be a sleeper team, but none that will take down the Cavs, Bulls, or Pacers in the ECF.

The Cavs could win with the East with the team they have right now. Could they win the Championship with it, probably not, but I also don't think a non-defensive playing, injury-prone, never-been-to-the-playoffs type of player like Love is gonna do it either.

Here is what I envision happening:

Love gets injured, cavs don't go all the way

Eventually he starts to hate living in Cleveland, and wants to be traded again.

Ok. Don't do the trade. Let's see what happens...

The Cavs fail to win it all. LeBron gets frustrated playing with a bunch of kids and leaves again at the first opportunity.

Great plan!

The Cavs just can't seem to win with some people.

This is going to come back to bite Lebron on his a$$. He thinks creating Power Teams and Big 3s will get him to Jordan type status when he won't ever get close.

Cavs were trying to get love long before lebron went back home.

But Lebron himself called out to Love anyway saying he wanted Him on his team. Which is presumably why he didn't include Wig or Bennett on his return letter.

I like how you say the Cavs need a hardworking player...have you ever watched Love play? My guess is that only when he played your team. He is the best rebounder in the game, he can outlet pass with the best of them, and he can score in an instant. He is a guarantee and a proven player. What is Wiggins? He is a bunch of "what if's" and "could be's". What would you rather have on your team when making a push for a title, a player that is a "sure thing" or a player that is a "what if"? The Cavs need to make LeBron happy and they need to put players around him this time. Keeping Wiggins probably isn't going to do that for him, Love will.

LeBron's not a young guy, he's almost 30 and he's been in the league 11 years! You don't know how much time he has left and you don't want to waste his last few years of dominance waiting for Wiggins to pan out when you can get a guaranteed top 10 player in their prime to play alongside him.

To me it's not about Wiggins vs Love.

It's Love vs Wiggins plus whatever else the Cav's have to give up to get him.

Wiggins vs Love straight up is an easy no brainer call. But we all know that's not what the trade will be.

If you have to give up Wiggins, Bennett and draft picks then I think the price is too high compared to the potential you get from Wiggins, a slimmed down Bennett plus picks to help build out the bench. AND I still think Lebron/Kyrie/Wiggins plus the bench makes you the odds on favorite to get to the Conference finals if not the NBA finals. AND you have what you need for a good amount of years to come.

Wiggings is an asset, not a franchise player. Use him now to get better. If that means getting Love, then go for it. Either way, Cavs always have a chance as long as they have James.

Miami won with 3 stars and a bunch of role players. Why can't Cleveland do the same?

I'm pretty sure that veteran free agents will flock to Cleveland to beef out their roster.

With a 'big three' of LeBron, Love and Irving it would only take a handful of specialists (Mike Miller, Ray Allen, Chris Andersen types) to make that team work extremely well.
