Nightengale has been down on the momentum all night. Yankees are projected at 152mm (including arb players and filling out the roster). IDK why Nightengale thinks the money is a big issue here, especially if they offload a Castro or Headley.

Doesn't make any sense to me. Cashman did everything he could to get under 200M to avoid the tax; and they're gonna soak up $250MM of Stanton?

Crazy.

Stanton to the Yankees and Ohtani to the Angels. Two unexpected moves. Hope this gives the Cubs a better shot at Harper next year

In terms of comparing Harper and Stanton obviously it’s better that Harper is younger and I think he is more of a sure thing has he has been consistently great over the years and Stanton has been injured a lot but I feel like Stanton has a higher potential and could keep hitting this many homers until near the end of the contract

If the Yankees don't give up any of their top 5 specs, This will be soon as collusion and Manfred might be forced by other owners to veto. Jeter has to get noteworthy names in return not just role players.

Harper has been oft-injured as well. He averages only 5 more games per season since entering the league

They weren't getting anything near the Yankees top 5 prospects from the Giants or Cardinals. This is about money. Period.

Good time for the Yanks to sell hi on Judge. Plus he plays the same position as Stanton.

I can't see how the Cubs could pull it off, but damn it would be awesome!

No chance. Judge is actually near Gold Glove level out there. There would be some rotation with them and DH with Gardner to center and Ellsbury a salary dump somewhere if not in the deal for Stanton.

All of this means one thing though: Clint Frazier is likely in the deal.
