When it cooled off, I went outside and walked around for an hour plus. It was fun just walking around and seeing other people doing the same thing.

Theres a bunch of good and bad with this app its downright amusing.

Good: exercise, walks, interaction

Bad: dead bodies, injuries and looking like a creep
Today on my way to subway I decided to see if I caught some along the way. Wanted to take a picture but with there being kids nearby I decided not to.

Ended up catching a koffing

Is there any benefit to having duplicates? For instance I have 2 raticates. Is there no reason for both? The game is fun, my house seems to be a constant catching area.

I did manage to spot lots of places around town however.

Transferring gives you candy? Good to know... I assumed it was a trade type of thing when there was another player around you

Not trade, transfer gets him out of your bag. Gives you 1 candy in return. Played the heck out of it tonight. Pidgeot cp437 and rsticste 200+ took out 2 gyms and tagged them blue. Kinda sucks you have to leave a pokemon there. Not sure if I get anything if people challenge and lose to me though

Right I get how it works now, I was saying before I thought transfer was a way to trade Pokemon with the people around you

Ran a test on data usage today. Spent 30 minutes on mobile data and used 6.36 MB, so I'd expect 12-14 MB per hour. This is no where near what I expected, so I'd like to see some other people confirm it. If it holds up, 12MB/hr is pretty good for such a great time killer.

I can't put my phone down. I was finishing elementary school when pokemon hit it's peak, right before yu-gi-oh came along. I feel like the dude from Trainspotting.

Also helps I got a pikachu in addition to my Charmander very early on. It's like getting a huge hit from wax after getting back into sports cards.

Id say the data usage also depends on the type of phone you have doesnt it?

Not that it really matters considering the amount of data it uses.

Depends how you want to play. I always keep my highest CP of each. So that includes a Pidgey, Pidgeotto, Pidgeot. I get rid of everyone. I try to Battle and be The Best haha. This way I can have multiple good guys. When you win you have to leave a Guy there. So I have two Pidgeots at the moment. 1 as my killer, 1 as a Gym Leader.

So you walk around with the camera on your phone and certain characters show up on your screen?

Is there any rhyme or reason to where they're placed, like some sort of algorithm that places them, or is it just random?

Watched a couple friends play for a few minutes, and the game looks fun. But is the game that much better than the DS/Gameboy Pokemon games? I have all the DS/Gameboy games so I want to know how much of a difference there is. Also, does it cost any money for the game? Do you have to pay for in game stuff? I like that Pokemon has a storyline in the games, and the app doesn't seem like there is, can someone talk about it a little bit for me?

Went for a walk and caught a bunch of stuff, including an Onix, pretty happy about that. Also reached level 5 so I will finally be able to see how gyms work!

Yea the Gyms can be tough at times. When you click one, swipe to the side you can see if there are multiple pokemon there to battle.

The First Gym I beat Yesterday was a 1 guy roughly 120cp... Today the ones around me are MUCH tougher. I took my 3rd down but he was at 365/460 on his 2 guys. The one a few blocks from him has 3 pokemon 340/440/645 Snorlax.

If you are trying to Battle, pay attention to secondary moves. My pidgeot needs a full bar (4 pegs) to do his special move, but its devastating. But Hitmonchan who I fought only needed 1 or 2. He did back to back Thunder Punches and almost rocked me.


As for the OG Games, totally different animal. This to me is a Lot more fun. More interactive, and less embarrising. I went out with my Wife, Friend and his wife last night for 2 or 3 hours from like 10-1am it was a blast. Would never play the OG games with multiple people now though.
