Default 2013 Elite "Portraits" - pretty cool imo!!
Just saw these on Panini's Facebook. I'm loving the ingenuity of the laser cut holes. It's nice to see some fresh take on cards for the 2013 season. I thought the acetate cards from Prestige were pretty solid too.

I just pulled a 1/1 aaron rodgers like that with holes cut out.... Making the face look like that is awesome though!

Not really ingenuity, as this has been done before, but I can't remember what set it was. Still nice looking cards though!

it was last year. it was also elite.

Topps did laser cuts back in 1996 with Topps and Stadium Club. Pacific also did this in the late 1990's.

Yeah, the more I think about it, the set I'm thinking about was the one that Pacific made.

What's with Panini showcasing Marshawn Lynch this year over Russell Wilson? Lynch isn't even the 4th fan favorite player on the team.

Although I've been collecting since 85, I bailed on the hobby from 1996-2005 so I had never seen those hockey cards of the same style. I know they did the holes last year, but only on numbers/stats. I think these portraits are a fantastic improvement, plus I really really like the design of the card. Reminds me of the old Score Deam Team inserts too - which I LOVE.
