You guys got screwed on both calls, why have replay if they can't get it right either.

I wish they never added it. I hate it. I don't get how they want to speed up baseball but they add this system that wastes time. On top of that they don't gets call right.

The problem is that other umpires are reviewing. Its basically turned into a buddy back up system at this point. Likely sabotaged the game.

The 3rd base umpire was the one that called the 225 foot "in field fly rule" in our playoff game with the cards in 2012. Caused a 20 minute delay from the fans.

Good lord.

I was about to say they probably have a quota as to how many calls they overturn, they can't prove the umpire wrong too many times or they will be out of a job.

Really just a blown game for the Braves. Bad call at the plate, bad call at third ... but the third strike error on Suzuki was worse than those IMO. Then Vizcaino ... yeesh.

And again ... old "Five Innings Folty".

Folty is a headcase as well. It's just irritating because everyone knows he has potential.

I wouldn't trust him or Viz in a playoff game. I'm sure the GM is already thinking about deadline moves. A closer needs to be one of them.

I literally yelled out loud when he hit that ball. Acuna looked like a little kid celebrating.

I really do think Folty has turned a corner. Not 'the' corner, but some corner. He's allowed 2 ER or less in all but one start this year (bad 2nd inning against the Giants on May 4). 10.5 K/9. H/9 at a career low.

But man, those walks. 4.4 BB/9, including two more tonight. And especially lately, it's completely mental. So many 0-2 counts run to 3-2 with fastballs overthrown a foot wide of the zone. The coaching staff has to be able to convince him that it's OK to throw his 97 mph Syndergaard-like fastball over the plate on 0-2 and 1-2. It's killing his pitch counts, hence why he's hasn't gone more than six innings all season.

He's on the path, and he can be serviceable doing what he's doing now, but he's lacking the confidence needed to take that next step.

He needs to pitch deeper into games. He's throwing too many pitches due to walks and many 3 ball counts. But he's not giving up a lot of runs which is nice.

Oh and some run support would be nice.

We can get by with 6 IP, but it has to be 6. Consistently throwing 100 pitches through 5 means this may be his last year as a starter, regardless of the ERA.

I do think it's mental. The H/9 is way down. Bring the BB/9 down to 2.5 by throwing those 2-pitch strikes and suddenly you start going 6 IP with a WHIP around 1.2 ... the way he's pitching now, that extrapolates out to 200 IP with an ERA under 3 ... yeah, we'd take that.
