Default Non-PPR Trade: Howard for Adams???

I'm a little thin at WR at the moment, so have been doing some trade talks, and was offered Davante Adams for Jordan Howard straight up. It would leave my RB situation a little thin (with the potential to get better). Here are my RBs & WRs right now:

RB - Joe Mixon, Jordan Howard, James Conner, Alfred Morris, Jamaal Williams, Kerryon Johnson

WR - Odell Beckham, Doug Baldwin, Sammy Watkins, Jordy Nelson, Nelson Agholor

Baldwin is my main issue at the moment with the MCL issue, but really just wondering if Adams is a big enough upgrade over Howard. Thoughts?

I had Adams as my WR5 heading into the season.

I understand why this is tough considering your RB situation. Conner is going to be a workhorse but nobody is sure on Bell and his plans. Morris didn't jump off the page week 1, he was against a tough DST but putting the ball on the ground multiple times is never good. Jamaal Williams is a question mark to me until Aaron Jones comes back and we see what MM does. Kerryon Johnson is intriguing but it's going to take a few weeks to see how the backfield shakes out.

Having said all of that, Baldwin scares me and Watkins as your #2 isn't something I'd want to bet on. I'd probably see if I could get another flyer RB/WR, but I'd accept.

Decline. Far easier to get a nice wr on waivers than a good back. The trade would leave you far too thin.

Interesting. I completely agree that RB's are much harder to come by, I guess I would have to see who is available in the FA pool at WR. In the two leagues I'm in, it's very thin. I am uber high on Adams and believe OP has a substantial dropoff after Odell. Watkins hasn't (yet) shown anything in KC and Jordy/Aghlor are dart throws at this point. I like Mixon, Conner, Odell, & Adams more than Mixon, Howard, Odell, Watkins, but that's just me!

Tough one with Mixon getting dinged up last night worries me a little too.

Nice to have 3 RBs so you can flex one and fill in for bye weeks.

Who are the top WRs available on the wire

Just saw this online too:

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports the Bengals "fear" Joe Mixon (knee) needs arthroscopic surgery.

Wasn’t aware of Mixon’s injury... tough. That certainly changes the situation.

WR’s on the wire is a big factor.

Thanks for everyone weighing in. With the news on Mixon most likely missing a few weeks, I decided to pass for now. There isn't really anyone I completely trust at WR on the wire right now, so just willing to let me team take shape over the next few weeks before I make any big moves.
