This set brought in people who were not normally collectors of current Marvel releases.

It was able to bring in collectors who once collected Marvel cards as a kid, and now collect Sports Cards - so it was a perfect blend for them. Cross sport card inserts into a non-sport card.

At the same time, some of the non-sport purist - just hate this set. To me it's just like people who own vintage cars. Some want everything OEM/NOS, while other like to update the care and add newer technology to it.

Either way, I think it was great for the hobby. It was able to bring new blood into the hobby. They might stay around, or they may not.

Bolded is absolutely what led me to break this stuff. I was never fortunate enough as a kid to have Marvel cards (first world problems, I know), but all the "cool kids" brought their 1994 Ultra cards to school in fifth grade. Man I loved those cards.

I broke two boxes at $190 per from my LCS. I hit a Deadpool Jambalaya, a Storm blue PMG, and two red PMGs. I sold the Jambalaya, PMGs, and about half my inserts, and then set out to build a "mini master set". I just completed it this morning. I still have an additional base set, a handful of good inserts, and all autos. And I am $20 in the black with a completed master set that is hard to find for under $350. This is my story.

Looks like DA has more cases in at $1640. That's about where I thought they would settle.

I honestly don't think they have settled yet. They keep going up every five days or so. I think $1800 will be coming soon and that will be the settle price until it turns into Marvel Premier on steroids when i really has dried up.

That may be what happens there. When I ordered them originally, they showed to be in stock, but I was contacted the next day saying they wouldn't be in until this week sometime. They haven't asked me for any more money though.

ETA: I checked their website just now, and the boxes and mini-boxes are showing to be out of stock, but you can still put them in the cart and pay for them.

I don't think the price has stopped rising, and I'd be surprised if anybody is selling lower than $225/box. Giving away money at that point.

01/10 sold for $600 but 01's have had a decent premium. I would guess more like $350-$400

its tough to figure out prices for these, I understand Wolverine why his go so high and spiderman, I saw a hulk go $750 a ghost rider go $800, I would think captain america is in there catergory.

i only saw three low ones on ebay, and two of them were cyclops auctions that ended an hour apart, which of course would depress prices. the other one was a week ago for an auction that ended on a saturday at 6:30 pm est!
