Default Bruins 2013 Thread

Having just watched the Bruins beat the Rangers then Jets in a SO today, I have to say I'm impressed with this years team. They are consistantly taking it to the net, and cycling the puck in the offensive zone making this years team an offensive threat each night. But as in past years this team needs 'finishers'. They will get their 30+ SOG per game, but need to bury their quality chances.

Bergeron, Krejci, Seguin & Lucic along with a returning Nathan Horton give this Bruins team a balanced scoring attack.

The Bruins have (3) well balanced lines with a better than average 'grind it out' 4th line, defense will only improve as Hamilton and Johnson get better adjusted to the team. Their defense will be key in getting the puck up ice, and this defensive core has the legs/players to do just that.

Rask is going to be the impact Goalie the Bruins have hoped for, as his 'traditional' style will make most fans forget about the Tim Thomas ordeal IMO.

The quality of play overall by the Bruins as well as their first two opponents has been close to mid-season form, of which I attribute to players being active in Europe and the AHL during the lockout.

So Bruins fans what do you think about this years team, and will Tukka be able to handle the increased playing time during this condensed season.

Let's GO Bruins and bring the Cup back to Boston!!

Just saw the game on NESN replay. Pavelec played out of his mind today and that call on Chara in OT? Wow.....

I hate giving away points...especially in a short season...but man...the B's look in POST-season form...

How the hell does the freaking Panthers thread have more chatter than this one?

I'm anxious to see how the B's play against the young Isles tonight. Hopefully they come out on fire and bury them early.

I hope Thornton gets Garden rocking tonight. Him and Carkner should be a good scrap. they have some good ones in the past.
Time for Seguin to get it going as well. Isles had to travel and play last night. Bruins should come out fast tonight.

I just want to see them come out fast. It's so frustrating when they come out not skating against a team they should handle.

With DiPietro getting his 1st start for quite some time, I can only hope the B's come out storming the net. The last time he started against Boston he gave up 3 goals in the 1st period and was pulled.

Looking forward to seeing more of Dougie Hamilton.

Bruins must improve their PP, have to move the puck better, and stop just taking shots from the point that for the most part have been getting blocked.

Maybe Chara should pay attention to Hamilton and getting shots from the point on net.

Nice rebound goal for Thornton.

Lucic just #@#@#@#@ing dropped Carkner!!

Sloppy game for the Bruins but Chara has given the boy's the lead in the 3rd!

Hamilton has been as advertised, great pass from the zone, amd Bergeron puts the B's up by 2 over the Isles.

Got the first Dougie, Dougie, Dougie chant of the year from the Garden faithfull!

Love seeing Lucic drop Carkner. That is a nice win for him and just gives him more room on ice. Nice tune up for Buffalo. You know Scott was brought in just for him. I think Lucic will chop him down as well.
Thornton with a goal, cool seeing that.

That Buffalo game is going to be an interesting matchup, I was at the game in Buffalo last year when they blew the B's out of the building and this game is far more important to both as division games in the 'short' season count more.

Expect a physical game right from the 1st puck drop, you may even see Thornton and Scott start the game opposite each other!

It looks like most of the team have found their legs, and I love the lines Claude has put together, can't say enough about how well Hamilton has played, this game will be just another challenge for this 19 year old.

I think we will see Khudobin between the pipes in Carolina, having seen him play here in Providence I think he will do fine. Has a similar style to Tukka with a traditional 'square up' stance.

GO B's GO!!!!

Big game in Carolina tonight! The B's need to show they can beat the pesky Canes.

I'm excited to see KuBe in goal tonight!

I as well, the B's need to play a solid 1st period and get Khudobin a lead to play with.
I look forward to seeing him play, and hope they continue to play sound 'D' keeping the front of the net clear. If Khudobin has a weakness it's been giving up rebounds on shots from the point.

Well this is a pleasant start for Boston, not only have they not allowed a PP Goal yet this year but Marchand just unloaded a bomb for a short handed goal!

Bruins come out flying in Carolina.

Come on Looch...I love when he fights but he is way too important to always be in the box for five...

That was quite the heavy-weight match! I think Looch got a few more clean shots in at the end, entertaining to say the least.

With another W after an up and down performance in Carolina the B's are back at it tonight against the Devils.

Khudobin played a decent game in his 1st start of the year, facing 6 PP and stopping all 6, to make the Bruins penalty kill 23/23 on the young season!!

And Dougie rewards the B's for keeping him for the rest of the season by assisting on the winning goal.
