I agree, and especially those who collect sub 9.8's it seems like you can get good deals and many buyers make their money off the high grades and are willing to take losses on lower grades, making them cheaper to acquire than buying direct from JSC and paying CGC fees for grading/slabbing.

I'd be okay with 9.0 to 9.6's if they were cheap enough. The only killer is the shipping fees adds $10-15 to the acquisition costs when buying online, and at stores/conventions, prices tend to be a lot higher than the internet.

I urge caution here. I love a lot of JSC stuff, but he has become too commercial for his own good. Apparently the print run for this book is going to increase because other websites, comic stores, and others can still increase their order until tomorrow.

I look for this trend to continue with artist even favorites like Del'Otto are becoming too commercial and killing their appeal. Must be a tough decision for them when to take more work and when to pay on what seems to be a lot of cash currently.

I read this also, but not sure how it applies to the JSC store exclusive.

Well if the books aren't restocked in a few weeks or a month then you are right. Or they don't show up in my local shop as well. But if it does it should
be a very clear warning things aren't what they seem.

Well if yall think he trying to rip yall off, then he should offer graded 9.8 for sell.. like other store variant. Weird how those store variant can be offering 9.8 grade for pre-sale. I know its mess up that they want to make money off you guys..but i would do the same.

I think that the best thing for JSC to do is offer CGC Signature Series already graded and authenticated versions to customers.

Right now, if you buy a pre-signed one, you only get the COA 'tho the comic is sealed with a tamper proof mylar hologram sticker, and you pay a premium for the signature.

If you get the unsigned version, as a customer, if you wanted it CGC Signature series, you're going to be paying at least $60 more per book just for 2 layers of additional fees, $30 goes to JSC for signing CGC books and another $30 goes to CGC to grade and slab your book.

You'd think if JSC were to exclusively do CGC SS on his books only through his store, he controls the inventory and can ask whatever gaudy price he wants. He can easily refuse to sign any books for CGC SS, so none would exist without his authorization and full control. He could then even opt to just run auctions, allowing the highest bidders to get them as opposed to resellers who may try to secure them to mark 'em up, 'tho I doubt if there's much room for profit at times with any books that are expensive out of the gate.

yea that was the auction I was referring to.
Not many listed either sellers are waiting to get books in hand or a lot of buyers keeping them (all the covers look awesome IMO)

Anyone going to SDCC that can help a brother out with the JSC exclusives? I think there are at least 3 that I've heard of.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Batman #50 and the black suit Spidey ASM #800. There's also a sweet Cosmic Ghost Rider #1 that's a glow-in the-dark cover. I'm fine passing on the virgin covers, lol.

I'd love to add one of those SSM 20 Campbell variants to my collection but I just can't justify dropping a grand on that thing haha.
