Either D or E ....They all are blurry though, need to work that out. I would say D ...E looks a little too sharp.

NOTE: this book is not for sale

A) Original / No adjustments
B) Just adjusting brightness and contrast in scanning software
C) Adjustments using image software sharpening filter (50%)
D) Adjustments using image software sharpening filter (75%)
E) After playing with the "unsharp" filter

Damn -- that hurts my eyes.

1. How about take the book to Staples and have it professionally scan there. Bring your own USB stick.

or
2. Take a decent picture with your Galaxy S6 or better --- and send the image to yourself. You will have an option to HD your picture.

or
3. Invest (true investment by the way) in a legal size scanner. You can scan all the extra stuff you plan to have for sale.

(If you set the resolution above 600 DPI or so, you will get a hi-res for all the corner to check on minty and so forth)

I'm using an 11x17 flatbed scanner already.

I'm trying to avoid the glare/shadow/reflection and get a nice square image that displays well. In order to avoid those things, I always have to take my pictures at an angle.

If it was just this one book, I think this would be a good option. I really don't want to lug all of my slabs to Staples ore pay to have them scanned, and I certainly don't want to make another trip every time I have new slabs to add to my collection.

I may try bringing one to work and seeing if I have better luck in the copy room. I will say, for sure, the new CGC slab seems to have an impact. All three of these have no filter applied to sharpen the image - They aren't perfect, but scans through the old CGC slab and CBCS slabs seem to be consistently less blurry.

Ok, is there any reason why I should hold on to my Web Of Spidey run? Trying to downsize my collection by Weeding out everything that isn't really going to appreciate over the years. Most of my collection is from my childhood so every time I pull something out to sell it just ends up sitting on my dresser for 6 months and then finds itself back in a box.

Well, there is this one...

As far as Spidey goes, I think 1, 48 and 86 may appreciate in the long run.

A bad ass piece by Chris McJunkin.

Not a fan of Carnage -- if I was, I would have been all over this.

Yes. I expect it is a bit of an homage.

Heyyyy that's mine

I asked for a homage to 51. Can anyone guess what the numbers mean? I plan on getting a poison ivy homage by another artist...as soon as a poison ivy blank becomes a thing.

1229111992

Not sure about the 122, but 9-11-1992 is the date for her first appearance episode premiered on television

I've been hoping for Catwoman blanks since I started collecting sketch covers. I would pick up some Ivy's too

Nice.. 12 could be the issue # for her first comic app ..but doesn't explain the other 2.. keep guessing

Nothing found for Dec 2 or Jan 22. Alphabetically, LB or AV ... Arkham Villain ??? . I have a 122 precinct near my house, Gotham is the 9th Precinct though.

Yeah I was thinking that a 2112 could be BA12, but obviously that doesn't work out.

That 122nd precinct comment got me laughing though!

You cant go changing the numbers around, that's cheating lol ...It's 122.

I figured it out.. I had this thought yesterday but the website I checked had the episode and titles mismatched.

1 is Season one and 22 is Episode 22, Jokers Favor.. 1st app of Harley.

So it's Season 1 Episode 22 and 9-11-1992 is the date.

Nice!

Not sure how I figured out the second part, and that season/episode never crossed my mind. In hindsight, it seems so obvious.

Woo! Correct to you both. I figured it worked out well given that the Catwoman book had the Lost numbers and there were 10 digits and it is obscure enough that most wouldn't give it a second thought. I'll post the book here once I get it in the mail. It is being sent to CGC first so...figure a long time.

I think it is a clever little easter egg. I also think you'll be pleasantly surprised with CGCs current turnaround times. Unless you opted for a pressing, you're looking at 4-6 weeks. I've waited MUCH longer.
