Man, these variants are killing me. We get the news of this one today as well as the JSC Hulk #1 variant over at Comixposer. I almost broke down and ordered it but I stayed strong. It's a never-ending barrage of store variants.

It's weird, She-Hulk has a poor history of maintaining a consistent run, but back issues of her titles sell remarkably well for me. Perhaps there's hope for this variant, the homage and X-23 on it make it a winner for me, but overall, I don't have high hope for the series lasting long.

X-23 is the only appeal that this issue has for me. Since when did buying comics become about buying the cover artwork, regardless of the story?! I can count only a few times where a cover really jumped out at me and made me want to read the comic. Sadly, cover artwork is no longer indicative of what's inside the book.

+1.

I'm not even sure what this book is, a revamp of Hulk #1? A new series?

Marvel has descended to the lowest of the low right now in terms of story telling. If they want a ratings boost either throw Deadpool or Gwen on the cover or make another male hero a female.

It's a Jen Walters Hulk book. She survived Civil War but didn't come out unscathed.

Speaking of Hulk...I've been following this auction.

Incredible Hulk #181 Vol 1 Near Perfect High Grade 1st Wolverine w/ Marvel Stamp | eBay

Don't restored books generally take a hit on pricing?

IMO, depends on a few factors:
1. Type of book.
2. Degree of resto.

AF15 resto can command close to full price with the right buyer.

$900 for the cover OA.... ... I thought I was nuts with the $600 ceiling.

Congrats to the new owner.

Yeah if the cover is nice sadly the book probably sucks anymore.

This book might be good because I think the cover sucks.

Default CGC Question

Quick CGC question that I didn't think warranted its own thread, and since its on my mind...

I just joined up before NYCC. Figured I was subbing enough books that I would like to enjoy some membership benefits and since it pays for itself there was not downside to joining. Was doing my regular check-in to see if my Campbell remark status changed, and noticed a different NYCC submission updated to "Graded". Sadly, it wasn't updated with any grades. Two questions:

1) Typically, how long does it take the grades, notes, etc... to appear in the invoice after the status is changed to graded?

2) How much longer is the process after the books are graded? Any chance I might have these before Christmas? They were sent modern without fast track, so I was shocked by the update. Wasn't expecting to see these books again until February at the earliest.

Appreciate any thoughts from long time CGC members. Thanks in advance.

And +1 rokstarr99. Just caught up this morning and really enjoyed getting to know Negan a bit better. Never read the comics.

@spider-fan ..I always did fast track but it was a few days after graded that the status changed to graded/quality control ..and then another few days to shipped. Once the grading process starts the rest should move quickly.

Goes like this:
Received
Verified
Scheduled for grading
Graded
Graded/quality control
Shipped (grades available to view)

Thanks, Cyber. Interestingly enough, none of them ever had the status 'scheduled for grading'. The previous status was 'verified'. I just checked thinking maybe it was a mistake, and now one of my other subs from NYCC is in the "grading/quality control" status. I'm going to be watch these like a hawk the next couple of days!

One last point, you don't always gets notes. They're not consistent in providing justification for their grading.

It really depends on the service level used and it also depends on where your sub falls in con season. What I find the most useful is monitoring the current cgc turnaround times thread on the CGC boards within the acomics General section. People post their sub level and the dates when it moved to the next level. This gives you a really good idea as to when to expect each stage.
