Welcome to the boards. As somebody who in dabbling in OA, I look forward to reading your articles. The column being associated with CBSI is really the only bad thing about it.

And, FYI, there is nothing unhealthy about a spotlight on Thanos!

I thought the Sandman article suffered for lack of depth. You covered the breadth of artists but rather than covering high points of each artists sales I would like to see more median/modal values...what the common collector is likely to encounter when looking for pages from Sandman by those artists. I have had a few pages in my day and most Jill Thompson pages, for example, get no where near the high value quote. Not picking on Jill, those are groovy pages but any artist could fit in there after the early issues.

Appreciate the feedback bird!

With regard to pieces featured, they were selected based on most recent public sales, so these are the prices a collector in the market would have been looking at.

For artists with more numerous public transactions, I try to showcase pieces from a variety of price points (e.g. Kelley Jones).

You better off with "words of mouth" with your LCS.

"I am in the market for some OA, so if you know people who willing to part some, text me."

I picked a couple Hughes pages from my LCS' patrons - which were within my budget. Had to pass on some covers - and they are really really nice covers from Hughes also.

If you try to snatch some via auctions, that is going to be tough because "so is everyone else". Unless what you wanted "no one wants", then you will get it for cheap.

Still regret on missing out on the Dell'Otto Spiderman page a couple months back. A published page sold for less than "Comic Con Commission Sketch" price.

Hi all, thanks for your feedback and support! I try to cover all price segments of the market, and consciously focus on affordable art. I wrote an earlier piece on it here: http://comicbookinvest.com/2017/01/20/affordable-art-january-2017/, and am planning to do another affordable art article soon.

Do keep an eye on the upcoming ComicLink Focused Auction, as it'll mostly contain pieces below 4-figures: http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/preview.asp?code=2017mar&itemtype=1.

I am a simple guy with simple taste --- Jim Lee, JSC, Adam Hughes, Dell'Otto and old school Erik Larsen.

Mcfarlane is WAY out of my league but if there is one reasonable I can work it.

So if you run across these -- PM a scan along with asking and I will let you know if I can pull the trigger or not.

So in one of the biggest comic art auctions it sells for $3100, it seems that's what it's worth right now. I see nothing iconic about that art so please tell me why it's so undervalued?

What is it a page from. There is zero info written in the header. I thought it was just a commission.
