Default When you get there........ what are you looking for?

Just curious as to what everyone sees moving at the big shows like national.....
Huge $$$ Cards?
Prospects?
Deals from .50-$2 bins?
Set collectors?
Team collectors?

Just wondering what the majority of you looking for. Personally Iím the guy looking for deals in the cheaper boxes.

B.J Ryan stuff I need as well as a few other pieces I’d rather be able to examine in person before buying.

I feel I will be overwhelmed with this my first National and need to stay focused. Although it's tough to tell exactly what I'll find, if the deal is there....I'm going to grab it. I'll have a total budget within the $500-1000 range. That could be one card or several hundred, I have no idea.

But as my username states, likely graded 1951 Bowman cards are at the top of my want list.

My main focus is to pick up a game used jersey of Thurman Thomas or Andre Reed. If I can't find one of those 2 - probably will look at other Bills jersey's that I can find.

Have to add to my HOF baseball collection - looking for a nice Yogi Berra.

Started a project with a full sized replica HOF football helmet. Have Jim Kelly, Bruce Smith, Andre Reed on it. Will be getting the bigger names at the show.
Barry Sanders, Earl Campbell and a few others. All have the HOF inscriptions.

Always pick up a case of cards from BO to take back home with me.

Like to find stuff for set building but it’s always hard to find inserts and things like that at card shows in my experience. My experience last year was the show is dominated by Vintage and then high end. But I’ll look for some vintage stuff and PC items to interesting items that catch my eye. I’ll have multiple days this year so more time to dig through boxes as well.

Really it’s awesome to just see some of items that people have. Wacky stuff to truly rare and amazing items.

usually meet up with friends beforehand. I am not 100% going yet but I am hoping to be there. Bargain bins first, but the time to buy is when you see it.

I usually just look for deals in bargain boxes. It really depends on my budget.

For you first timers, I like to walk around and see the whole thing first. Each table is numbered. Write down those numbers so you can go back and spend time at those booths. This will save time trying to remember where the booth is.

will be looking to pick up singles for my 1974 and 1975 baseball sets I have started, as well as a few nice HOF vintage singles, likely PSA. There is usually something I end up buying that I had no plans of buying.

T-206 Red Back Ty Cobb, somewhere in the PSA 1-3 range...

Sadly, the last couple of years, the dealers were easily a couple hundred dollars higher than eBay and wouldn't budge...

I too enjoy looking through the lower priced box...hoping to find the occasional treasure or two.

For those who attend the NSCC do you think that those who look through the $1-$5 boxes tend to bee looking for something newer (last few years) or are they looking for something with a bit of age to it?

I love going through the bargain bins, especially if they have chairs. Looking for bargains on mid to high end cards, especially PC guys. I've been saving money for the past four years, since the last time it was in Cleveland, so I'll have my biggest budget ever at the National. I finally plan on pulling the trigger and picking up a Trout Update RC in a PSA 10, and a 93 Jeter SP in a PSA 7 for a good price, hopefully. And this will also be the first time I plan on going multiple days. You just can't see everything in one day. This thread has me super pumped, I can not wait to go. It's gonna be a long 4+ months............

I enjoy going through the bargain bins looking for cool items. I also enjoy looking for Pittsburgh players that I did not even know existed such as a jersey or auto card of a player that I was unware of it's existence.

I try to be there every day, so I also make lots of notes of which booths to go back to later on.

Mid to low level cards for my PC.

So many tables have overpriced BGS 10 Kris Bryant superfractor or Trout gold ref autos. I don't come to the National to find those cards I can just buy online marked up even more. You'll see most of those same cards in the same cases at the end of the week.

I'm looking for cards in the $20-$100 range that don't pop up as much online. Low numbered things, cards for my players that I don't own. I'd rather walk out at the end of the week with 20 nice PC cards than one $1k purchase.

Last year was my first experience, but had to hit up BlowoutCards and buy some cases, then wait in the Panini line for silver packs. After realizing how full my hands were I didn't walk around too much after. Bring a rolling bag and browse the tables all day!

I'll be looking for some Boomer Esiason Jets Autos/patches for my PC, Nice deals on some wax or those $1,000 UD boxes.

The main reason I'm going is for the Panini VIP program as well.

This is going to be my first national. I'm going by myself, so if any Blowout members would like to meet up, and grab a dinner one night, I'd love to meet some people face to face.
