1945: NFL commissioner Elmer Layden said, "The playing of the national anthem should be as much a part of every game as the kickoff. We must not drop it simply because the war is over. We should never forget what it stands for."

Documentary on the Cowboys coming out on Amazon Prime. Details some of the events before the Cardinals game where they all knelt before the anthem. Pretty much coaches wanted to focus on football but the entitled players felt a need. Probably will watch this.
The problem when Garrett says this... “Nobody is interested in disrespecting the flag, the national anthem, the country, any of that stuff." Is he is 100% wrong. That's exactly what Kaepernick and the kneelers are interested in. Quote:

Michael Bennett, lying race baiter, old lady beater, and just an all around terrible human being... also one of the faces of the anti-American, anti-Anthem movement, which should surprise no one, had more information come out today on just how big of a child he really is. This is why the leaders in the NFL should take control. Many NFL players are immature and you need strong leadership to set the right example. Otherwise you get what you have now. A complete mess.
Brock Huard talking about Michael Bennett reading books in meetings while Pete Carroll was talking to the team. Brock is 100% correct comparing Bennett to a child throwing a tantrum. Quote:

Colin Kaepernick: NFL quarterback receives Amnesty award for race protests
https://www.bbc.com/sport/american-football/43853097 This will be written in history books in time. Only to look back at how much resistance there was to fix the wrong in our systems. |

Looks like the XFL gonna do it right. Hope it destroys the NFL for good! Then the NFL can stop playing football and just focus on SJW activism and compete for who can whine the most and do the least.

Unsigned safety Eric Reid files collusion grievance against NFL "Former San Francisco 49ers safety Eric Reid has filed a collusion grievance against the NFL over his employment status. A source told ESPN that Reid is working with attorney Mark Geragos, who also represented his former teammate, Colin Kaepernick, in the quarterback's collusion grievance against the league." http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/2...-grievance-nfl |

Haha, I forgot Eric Reid's brother was drafted by the Texans. McNair respects the flag and America, so clearly he has become a villain in the SJW world.

Yea, didn't he just visit one team? I'm sure someone would sign a young proven safety eventually. I think he's just an attention whore like Kaep.

I'm of two minds on this Reid lawsuit. It seems pretty obvious that Kaep and Reid are being excluded due to their protests, but good luck actually proving that in a court of law. Short of some kind of admission by an NFL GM it'll be real hard to do. Also, he knew this was a possible consequence when he started protesting. If he wanted to protest (which I support his right to) he should have been prepared to deal with any potential consequences that came from it.

What Kaepernick (and now Reid) have to prove is there was collusion between teams not to sign them. Teams may not work together in any way to limit a player's marketability. However, as you noted, this will be tough to prove. Their best chance is to find some sort of damning text message or email. |

My guess is there exists no tangible piece of evidence of any collusion by the league to exclude Kaepernick. Because honestly, if the NFL would do that, they probably would just have forced players to stand in the first place. So what they are left with is a fishing expedition, hoping to uncover moronic statements in emails, etc from Bob McNair or others to get to a point where they can argue to a judge - "Hey, these emails show that there may be something to this." The league's best argument (along with the fact that teams make personnel decisions autonomously and competitively) was essentially that they had any other number of players protest, and those with sufficient talent who are willing to accept market value for their services are still on teams. That's why I said before I believe Reid is being played by Kaepernick to essentially join his lawsuit (since he is using his attorney), so they can point to someone else besides Colin who teams wont touch. It's messed up (and yes Reid is accountable for his own bad decision making), because I am sure teams would have picked him up previously, but the lawsuit now likely paints him as a Kaepernick-level distraction that I really didnt get the sense he wanted to be. |

Goodell is a weak fence sitter so he's definitely not going to do anything about it. Would be fun to root against the anti-American, racist teams if this becomes the new policy.
"NFL owners are considering a compromise solution to the sport’s national anthem policy that would make it a team-by-team decision whether to require players to stand for the anthem prior to games, according to several people familiar with the league’s inner workings." NFL owners could leave national anthem policy to individual teams |
