Default So I just bought a ton of 80s and 90s cards, what now?

Sometimes I question my own sanity, and yesterday was one of those moments. So I ended up poking around on Craigslist and found a lot of about 12,000 "junk wax" 1980s and 1990s baseball cards five minutes from my work for an extremely low price. Despite knowing better, I went and picked them up, so I now have six large boxes filled to the brim with base cards from a non-desirable era. I plan on picking out the stuff for my PC teams, and I will enjoy going through them, but how the heck do I get rid of them after I'm done?

I've started this. Dumping base garbage. I finally accepted that the bulk of it will never sell because even if I get it listed on eBay or elsewhere, no one is looking for 1988 Topps lots.

This. I give my base dupe commons to a local baseball academy. The kids love it. Who knows, maybe a few of them will get into cards and this hobby.

I had many boxes of 80's and 90's base, now the landfill does.

I’ve seen show organizers handing out stacks of commons to kids. The kids usually look back at them like they were just handed a steamy pile.

This...and those cards will biodegrade, unlike the chrome cards of today

Look for Pro Set errors, if there's any football.

I’ll send you Boo’s address.

Be sure to send them COD so he gets nailed with the shipping cost.

You don't have it pal. I do have Pearce's old address though, I should send some there.

I'm guessing the condition on them might not even be worth checking. Otherwise, you could look for some key cards to send to PSA.

randomly drop a few around your house before you leave for work every day and have your wife pick them up.

Pick the cards/teams you want out, and toss back up on Craigslist.

I burned a 3200 count box of cards like this last night. It's therapeutic to sit there and toss in a few at a time. They burn really well.

they work great for scraping up "material" on the coffee table
I've dropped a few big boxes off at the Boys Club or a YMCA w/ a daycare.
Most of the kids who whose parents rely on these places for semi "chlid care" aren't spoiled enough to turn they're noses up at them. I was a Boy's Club after school kid from 4th -6th grade for a few hours while my parents finished work.

Ask yourself why you bought them, never do it again and if you think you might do it again reread this thread.

This is true. I'm in my 10th year coaching Little League and I like to hand out packs to the offensive player of the game and top pitcher (sometimes others). I usually give Topps Opening Day out, but occasionally mix in some 1989 Fleer. Take a guess at the difference in reaction I get.

Find the closest blowout members house, drop them off at their doorstep and ding, dong, ditch.

If you sell on eBay, they make great packing material. Slide a few on the outside of a toploader in a team bag and put in a bubble envelope. Great shipping method.
