Get former ECW wrestler New Jack. I heard he's a real friendly nice guy.

Are you far from NYC? Try to get Steve Lombardi (aka The Brooklyn Brawler) to sign, if he is still in the area.

Any gimmick wrestlers from the past should bring in customers.

the Virgilbag on Deadspin is one of the funniest things I have ever read. Seems like he makes his living now by going around to signings & trying to con people into buying his stuff. There are stories in there where he advertised Million Dollar Man would be there too & then make up some story as to why he couldn't show up when people asked where he was at.

I always loved how Kurt Angle stole the Patriots theme song! That was my fav part when the Patriot would come out to that theme, lol.... then when Angle started using it I was like HEY WAIT A MINUTE!!

If you don't have much knowledge about the business, just stay away from it. Seriously. Don't even bring some washed up star around. They'll end up no showing, or holding you up for more cash. It's really one of the sleaziest business around, especially the old washed up guys that do these kind of events.

That's a harsh statement. I'd love to get in-person autos from retired wrestlers I remember from my childhood. I'd think most would be appreciative that past fans would take time to show up to have a chance to get their autograph. Many would probably be happy to show up for a small fraction of the cost of an active star.

If I remember right, your shop is in Texas? Maybe print up a few questionnaires and ask your regulars to fill them out. On there ask if there are any regional wrestlers or athletes that they'd like to have in for a meet & greet.

You're on the right track, events like that are a great way to get new folks into the shop for the first time.

Val Venis might be pretty funny and I've seen Sunny at shows in MA.

If they book Paul Bearer, as advertised on the site there, I'd make the drive up to see it. He died last year.

His shop in is Texas? His location says Southern New Jersey.

Get Steve Austin if the shop is in Texas.

That site just made my ****ing day. Virgil's been a running joke of ours for 15 years. I have a picture of him from a con way back when with a french fry sticking out of his mouth.

No, it's definitely not on WWE Network. Youtube has banned it. Try Vimeo or Dailymotion.

The Mass Transit incident is awful, it's like there was a faucet pouring blood out of his head. Probably the worst thing I've seen in wrestling.

That being said, I've met New Jack before, he is a nice guy. Just not the kind of guy you'd mess with.

If you think the Mass Transit/New Jack incident was bad, search for the New Jack/Vic Grimes scaffold match on Youtube.

or New Jack/Gypsy Joe. or New Jack/some guy from Florida where he pulls a blade out of his pocket and stabs him 14 times. Or any shoot interview with New Jack....he's a tad completely nuts.

probably stemming from the aforementioned Vic Grimes match where he suffered brain damage and literally had brain matter oozing from his ears.

New jack is a strange guy. I've met him a few times and he was always super cool to me and any other fan that approached him. But he has done some insane things in the ring. Even admitting he tried to kill grimes in that xcw match over what happened in there ecw match.

Nasty?

That's funny as #@#@#@#@! Your brother must not have the same sense of humor that you do. I would die laughing if he said that to me.
