What is up with the SK logo card? Did it come from a shirt he wore?
Or something like that? Just don't understand how it links to the player.

It's simply an insert set that contains the Sportkings logo patch in each card. These patches are not game-used or event-worn. Think of it as if Topps or ud inserted their logo into cards as a patch. Those would not be game-used or event-worn either.

Series D has 48 base cards in the release. Each person honored with a base card in Series D also has a Sportkings logo patch 1/1 card. They did this with all 4 releases. There have been a total of 208 base cards over all 4 releases so far, and therefore, there are a total of 208 different SK Logo 1/1 cards as well.

They are pretty collectible. While I have over half of these cards in my collection, I have found them to be the hardest to locate and acquire of all the insert sets. It's been a fun challenge.

WOW! You have over half of them? Now that would be a cool sight to see.
I imagine your SportKings collection has got to be HUGE by now.

I've been having internet problems from a storm that went through a couple days ago. I keep being teased with intermittent internet. I keep dropping packets at a frustrating rate.

If the cut auto is still available, I'd be interested in it.

They do look pretty cool together. Even though the concept is the same with each release, they changed the design a little each year. Here are examples from each release running A through D:

I would be interested in a Parent card. I collect Philadelphia sports team and do not have a Parent card.

I remember Sarmentino vs. Larry Zabisko (spelling?) at the Spetrum in Philly as a kid.

The design/look of the Series B logo cards is my favorite - I love the full color images. But as you said, they are all desirable. To me, a Sportkings logo card is the card collecting pinnacle for the respective athlete featured on the card: a 1/1 card proclaiming the athlete as a "king" of their sport, with the logo patch bestowing the legacy of the original 1933 Sport Kings upon the card.

If you find them to be the hardest to locate and acquire of all the Sportkings insert sets, imagine how I feel...
