Default Anyone into Hot Toys?

Anyone else collect Hot Toys besides me?

Currently only have two figures (Dx14 Mime Joker, and BvS Batman), and two figures on pre-order (HT Punisher from DD and SS Batman)

Also just bought DX08 Jack Nickolson Joker today too

So anyone else out there?

These are top shelf collectibles and you pay for it. Wish there was more of an outlet to buy them in the states.

I picked up a Shanghai Disney Iron Man gold chrome back a few months ago. Would of bought more but could not transport them all.

Pretty excited for the Justice League movie and the figures that will be coming with it.

Also very curious about that batmobile... costs a ton of money but I can picture myself hitting the preorder on that as soon as it goes up. Trailer that was released today had a lot of batmobile footage in it

I have quite a few of the 1/6 scale, I think I pretty much ordered them all from sideshow.

My first purchase was Jake Sully - Avatar. I was blown away by the head dressing which had real feathers, also the eyes looked like they were real. When I took a few macro pics, they looked like stills from the actual movie. I was hooked.

I think I followed that up with Babydoll - Sucker Punch. The automatic machine gun and the engraved samurai sword sold me.

I have the Black Spidy, best articulation I've ever seen. I have Batman & Joker DX12, these are probably my two personal favorites. Iron Man Mark 1 V2, I believe I also have the Mark VII. I have the Bruce Willis - GI Joe. I have Scarlet Johansson Black Widow - Avenegers.

I also have a bunch of the Star Wars ones by Sideshow. These aren't as nice IMO.

I'm not actively collecting these anymore. At some point you have to draw the line, lol. I was really tempted to get Harley Quinn but the exclusive had already sold out by the time I found out about it.

Dumb question for you. I just started looking into this market for a bit. Let me know if I got this right. Hot toys/Sideshow stuff aren't statues. They are like 1/6 scale action figures? Do you pose them in different ways for fun or simply go with one and display on a shelf? I bought a weta lord of the rings statue at 1/6 scale and it stands just over a foot tall. These are similar in size?

I am definitely drawn more to statues or "fine art". I have no interest in "playing" or "posing", just for display. I am trying to figure out if I like the 1/6 scale or more of the smaller mcfarlane size statues. I bought a Jon Snow from target and it is about the same size. I get the likeness isn't as good especially the face, but $20 is a hell of lot cheaper and less space to display. Any recommendations on Marvel/DC or Star Wars statues that are good? Or do you recommend hot toys for them?

Yeah the 1/6 scale are basically collector quality poseable action figures. The detail is mind blowing. They are usually 12 inches tall, similar to a barbie doll, lol. Most collectors either display them or keep them BNIB. Sounds like your interested in statues, sideshow calls these premium figure format. I've never bought any of these, they generally cost a little more for the lifelike versions. I've found sideshows reviews to be very helpful. I typically only buy from either Hot Toys or Sideshow. They seem to be one step ahead of the competition especially for 1/6 scale.

Any updates on the Hot Toy front? Have 4 preorders on the list, with the new Jack Sparrow being closest to shipment. Others on preorder are wonder woman from JL, emperor palpatine deluxe, and superman from JL.

Nothing fancy or crazy. Some are in Musuem poses and others have a bit of an action pose to them. I just moved, and one of the closets has some nice shelving in it. So I have them placed there to help avoid sunlight and dust and the works.

Hot toys just put up Iron Spiderman. Pretty cool and interesting they show the new suit before the movie launched. Dont have much marvel figures, but this one looks good.

I've been buying some stuff over the last year or two, the Hot Toys stuff is really nice, it is pricey for sure. I just like things that catch my eye, usually the Hot Toys stuff is more than I want to spend.

Just got shipping notice from BBTS on DX15 Jack Sparrow. Seems strange getting two DX figures in such a short time frame, but hey I'm not complaining

I've been collecting too much Hot Toy's product in the past that I had to sell almost all of them, b/c it's take too much space for collecting and storage. lol
So far I'm just sticking to the ones I love the most like Both DX Captain Jack Sparrow, Deadpool etc.

I think I'm starting to run into that problem. They just put Dr Strange from IW up for preorder today and of course I placed my order. I have 7 figures at home, two that are on the way through the mail, and 4 more figures on preorder. Oh well

Recently by fixing the space problem I've been starting to collect Ironman's figure from other company called KING ARTS which makes 1/9 figures and it really saves up lots of space as a collector lol

Just got DX15 Jack Sparrow in a few days ago. I'm not a huge fan of the films, but this figure is a master piece. Really suggest picking one up now if you are on the fence about it, you wont be disappointed.
