The flip side being that if his struggles continue through the rest of the season his prices in winter will be much lower than what seem like low prices now. Iím waiting.

Well I canít say I agree with the comment above. Moncada clearly is behind Baez, but hopefully some day! Baez clearly has come a long way from where he was at the start.

All of that said.... I said I was a big fan. Well I think ďall inĒ on Yoan now. I saw this and pounced on it. I figured this is the best place to share it. One of the coolest pieces in my collection because of the use. Without further ado...

This jersey was used 4/17, Moncada went 2-4 with a HR and a stolen base. The fact itís the whole uniform is really cool, and the first full uniform in have in my GU collection. Hereís hoping the kid turns into a star someday!

That's really cool! He's still got time. I have a couple Moncadas stashed, so I REALLY hopes he picks it up soon!!!

At this point worst overall position player in the game!
The real question is does he finish the season above .215
at least heís still leading the big league in Kís

Before you get all fired up at me, I got this from a Sox fan friend. I still think he is underachieving and can be better but just admitting this year is awful is okay.

These are great.

As far as the best 2B in Chicago comment, I am guessing that was comparing him to the local 40+ coed softball leagues. Talk about a bad troll attempt!

August has not been nice to Yoan. Hitting .171 this month with 23 strikeouts in just 11 games! I really think the Sox need to send him down. For as much talent as he has, it's clearly not there right now. They need to do something about it, because it's not working itself out

He took the cure tonight - laid down a perfect bunt - no throw!

Him and Giolito should've been demoted months ago.

Headsupbutts-itis from the ChiSox management

Gio's at least had a few solid outings lately. Moncada's only had 9 games without a strikeout since the start of June! I don't know how much longer they can let him tread in the .200-.220 mark while striking out nearly 2 times each game before they realize it's not working

Giolito had some good outings last year too, though. I don't think he's even close to being a solid contributor at this point. I don't know if they're scared to admit they might've made a bad deal, or what.

With Moncada, it reminds me of Joe Girardi when they had guys like McCann and Ellsbury continually hitting poorly. "Oh, well, they're one swing away from figuring it out!"

This ChiSox rebuild could end up being a warning case of relying on top prospects. Moncada, Giolito. Kopech has struggled. I think Eloy has a chance to be the real deal, though.

Leading the majors in strikeouts with 169, 0.701 OPS, 0.221 avg, 0.304 OBP, 0.398 slugging...I don't watch White Sox games but it must be painful to see this can't miss prospect struggle so badly.

Warning case? Check out last two WS winners and tell me how that went?

It hasnít been the best but he is still going to have pretty good counting stats and he has gotten on base at every level.

Losing is the easy part. Turning that into something worthwhile is the hard part.

Moncada, Giolito, Fulmer

Wells yes but your point that this could be a warning for teams relying on top prospects. Seems like it has worked in the very recent past

Furthermore what would you like a team like that to relay on? They werenít good and had no future until they traded for top prospects

Of course it works. If you select and acquire good players. Their two headliners in Moncada and Giolito have been massive disappointments.

My point is that being bad isn't enough, and acquiring highly rated guys guarantees nothing.

Then say that next time.

I’d still go all in on Moncada. He has had moments and is going to be close to 20/15. He has gotten on base at every level, be shocked it he can’t all the sudden? I’m buying stock

If he can bring his average down 40 points, his OPS down like 200, and strike out 3-4 times per game instead of 2, he can be the next Chris Davis! $160 million here we come!
