Default Official 2017/2018 Los Angeles Dodgers Thread

Thank You Dodgers for a terrific 2017 season. The Dodgers made it to the World Series, but unfortunately lost.
A lot of Dodger comeback wins and surprises. Chris Taylor and his career season, Cody Bellinger breaking the Dodger rookie Homerun record. Justin Turner and Corey Seager playing solid. Puigs comeback season. Kershaw and Jansen pitching incredibly.
Go Dodgers!

Rotation?

Kershaw
Hill
Wood
Maeda
???

This is assuming they'll sign a decent RHP going into 2018. Could be Darvish, but feels unlikely to me. I don't know.

Hoping they hang on to Morrow.

Hopefully this guy has another great season. Had the pleasure of hanging out with him and several other Dodgers this past weekend.

5th Starter
Ryu
Stripling
Brock Stewart

Having Morrow and Watson both back would be great.
I dont think the Dodgers will sign freeagent starter. Dodgers probably will wait until before trade deadline in July to trade for a starter.
Walker Buehler is a possible starter.

Wish I knew who was signing for Fanfest this year. The 10 x 14's that Topps has for half price right now would look really good(if the sharpies will take to the ultra glossy surface)

Dodgers considering trading Grandal who has one year left on his contract.

Agon,Ryu,Kazmir,McCarthy, and Forsythe contracts come off the books after the 2018 season. Puig could be traded, because he will be arbitration elgible. Thats a lot of money!
Could the Dodgers front office use the expiring contracts and a few prospects to get Stanton.

Started this about 20 years ago with a free Bill Russell auto..got lazy, then Cey was paired with Jansen at Fanfest a few years ago. Now Lopes. Garvey should be easy. He's signed many times over the last few years...I've just been lazy about going.

Highly doubt I'd attend one of these special Sunday events at F&S again. The whole places was closed down except the auto area. Lots of standing around waiting with nothing to do. Hall of Fame sports charged $7, but gave a gift bag that had a lot more value than $7. All that I kept was a Clippers visor and toploaders for tobacco size cards which is great because they are hard to find and very necessary for Allen and Ginter minis which I collect. Overall though it was kinda depressing.

Yes. I thought I was clever holding the 76 gas station giveaways all these years, but HOF Sports had a huge stack

Yes to Fanfest provided I can get at least a couple decent auto tickets. I have a feeling it will be a madhouse this year....last year was over crowded.

Dodgers probably aren't signing any relievers. Kazmir and McCarthy could pitch out of bullpen. Stripling, Cingraini Baez, Yimi Garcia, and Liberatore. Dodgers will wait until before trade deadline to asses what is needed. By then injuries to pitchers and position players will determine what to do and who to bring up. Dodgers should be in lead of West or fighting for a playoff spot.
Dodgers could also regress and take a step backward. Teams that lost the World Series usually dont go back the following year, with the exception being Kansas City Royals(2014-2015).
Turners knees, Bellinger has sophmore slump, Seager elbow, etc a lot of things could go wrong all at once.
Dodgers have a five year playoff run and a good core of young players and veterans who know how to win.
Go Dodgers!

Sounds like they might sign Yoshihisa Hirano. Japanese reliever. They are good at throwing together a bullpen so hopefully there are some guys in the minors.
