..what motivation does Topps have to put anything good into ginter x? Seriously? They could 30000 Altherr autos in it and you all would still line up to buy it next year.

But lining up to complain about every new product is noble and cutting-edge.

No joke, I've been here 3+ years, and HeritageKing has been complaining for 3+ years.

Actually I liked ginter, until I figured out I had no shot at the high end wood cards. It not like money grows on trees or that this stuff is inexpensive.

Depends on print runs, I've never seen this stuff sell out fast, regardless of the few hyping it on here.

If Topps kept the run down, I doubt it would last long, but I bet printing run is up meaning this won't even sell out the first day.

I get that your MO is to just complain in advance, but believe it or not, everyone doesn't operate that way. I don't assume that they will screw up every product from this point on because of the wood mini issue. If there was another licensed company to buy from, I would. Otherwise, I have to decide which Topps products I still want to spend money on.

Again, the product in 2017 was great, I'm hoping this one is same. If it's not, then I won't buy it anymore, just like I've done with several other products. Keep on doing you, but I don't need you to complain on my behalf.

"We" are excited about Ginter X because it was a good product last year. I am also very skeptical because of Topps' history with cranking the presses the year after a good product run, and because of the Ginter collation issue.

As for the auto print runs, last year most had a print run of about ~25, but several also had a lower run of ~10. There's no reason to believe it's different this year.

Back to this product, I am curious about the parallels this year as well. Seems like Topps adds parallels in other products when they make the odds longer on the existing ones as a way to try to balance it.

Maybe we get a gold/blue/green/whatever numbered to 10 or 15 in every box when the increased production that is probably coming pushes the odds on the others. And yes, I know the reds weren't in every box, but they were there in 75% of them. A gold numbered to 10 could be 1:18, allowing the reds to be 1:36.

They had around 1000 cases that sold out in two days last year.

You were holding out for a card that comes in like 1 out of 8 cases?

There were less than 200 cases last year. Around 190 if I'm remembering right.

It sold out with a few hours of the odds going public, but technically yes, two days.

For case breakers last year that built sets, how many base sets were you able to complete? From my recollection, the collation is not good and few sets could be built from one case.

I completed 1 master set, a 2nd master set was only short a couple of cards and then two base sets minus SP's. Collation was great for me.

Same. With a decent amount of trading, I completed 4 master sets (1-350) and 4 base sets (1-300) from two cases.

I imagine the Topps email tomorrow will have this as a highlight. Just wonder if they will have a specific time for these to go on sale or just surprise us. If they state a specific time, it could be challenging to get the product before it sells out (if it is short printed).

I hope I can get some of this again this year. I think I bought and opened 10 boxes last year. Very fun, and 1 Auto per box is awesome. Pulled Hank Aaron last year and Michael Phelps in 2016 (Actually only opened 1 Box in 2016 and still have 3 boxes left from that year).

This was widely available for about a day and a half until someone did the math on the odds and calculated only ~ 195 cases and then the gauntlet was run and it sold out in a few hours after that.

Email came out with the Ginter X announcement but no idea of when it will go live. I would guess sometime between 1 pm and 3 pm EST. I guess I will be playing the refresh game tomorrow.

Just Topps being Topps. I've seen pics of black autos with silver ink. I'll try to dig some up.
