Base, SP, patches, same autos (one new one), more sketches. Yawn

Stamps are a re-do, but I hope it’s the right new UK stamps to go with 2016 cards. Other then that, nothing real interesting here.

I was hoping to see some comic book cut cards, just for something different. I really loved the animation cels this year...and I think I was the only one...

Yeah, they somehow did the impossible and made a set where Martin Freeman and Angela Bassett are signers disappointing.

Lol, I agree. My bad for misinterpreting you.

Also, this movie has people in it who played major parts that they somehow couldn't get to sign for this release. So honestly, don't even try to compare Black Panther to what Topps gets for Star Wars.

Also, I really hope I'm misinterpreting you but you said this in the same Black Panther thread:

"The only way this disappointing checklist would make sense is if they're saving everything for Infinity War."

So if you're calling me out for not thinking that Freeman and Bassett are disappointing, well, didn't you also call it disappointing?
I'm not calling you out. I'm agreeing they made it disappointing, which is insane when they got Freeman and Bassett to sign. That tells you how much the ball was dropped on that auto checklist.

It'd be like getting Idris Elba and Rene Russo for the first 2 Thor sets, but surrounding them with nothing else.

It's cool.

Back on topic, I'll be picking up at least a box of this. The main cast signing is always good, and adding Dern and Mads to it just makes it better. Plus, I love Masterwork.

Has anyone heard anything more about the stamp cards for this set (like which stamps they will be using)? Royal Mail has released 8 new stamps to go with the stamps used in 2016 Masterwork and I would love to see Topps use these stamps and carry forward the 2016 design...but that would be asking a lot from Topps.

Default First case purchase questions

Really excited about this set. This is my first case purchase as opposed to buying by the box.

What has been people experience when buy (Star Wars) cases? How many big name auto hits per case? Are there 1 per case hits? Is it generally worth it to buy by the case? Etc.

I would rather but by the case once a year than buy boxes throughout. Just looking for people's thoughts and to open discussion.

Depends on the print run honestly. Otherwise cases are really hit or miss.

If you want a big name now, I'd say buy a case of TLJ S2. If MW4 continues the trend it could be good or a bloodbath. Just look up some of the MW3 breaks. Some are pretty brutal.

Buying a case is generally better but there's not usually a guaranteed "case hit".

I feel like MW is the one product that Topps needs to have guaranteed case hits or at least 1 top 10 signer. You get a good amount of autos and people are spending a lot of money. It should not be hard to have a couple good autos per case.

Love still waiting on my MW 17 Mark Hamill Plate Auto... you know... only the biggest hit of my life that just so happened to also be a PC item as well..........

Unbelievable that they haven’t gotten him to sign yet, particularly since he was also a redemption in their $10,000 product, could they be saying any louder that they don’t care about their customers with this one?

I was really hoping for Hamill to sign for this set but he may still be blackballing star wars over TLJ. Really wish some news one way or another would be released.

No, I really don't pre-order anything. I find ways to get cases at decent to good prices right around release date.

OK, good haha. Lower pre-orders will be what gets them to react and ask why and then maybe make configuration changes, like going back to case hit incentives or more hot box products.

Man, who the hell would pay $225 for a blank? Maybe an artist who can draw it up and sell for $400+?
