I'm going to New York City for the first time. I'll be there for a week and working during the day. What should a guy from the Midwest seeing NYC for the first time see? Staying in Manhattan near the Javits Center.

- We're going to the Statue of Liberty
- Guggenheim - I'm a huge Frank Lloyd Wright fan
- Empire State Building - $40 for the observation deck
- I'd like to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge
- I'd like to see the outside of MSG and where David Letterman's theater is/was
- No desire to see Times Square

For time savings are cabs and uber worth it? I'll keep my wallet in my front pocket. Anything I should know?

If you visit New York City and only do one thing, make sure it’s ride the subway. And one of the best rides in the city is the 7 line to Flushing. After scurrying beneath 42nd Street and the East River, the 7 train emerges into daylight by Long Island Rail Road’s Hunterspoint Avenue station in Queens. Soon afterward, the 7 train soars over Amtrak’s Sunnyside Yard, and a few stops later, calls at Woodside, where Long Island trains can be shot early-morning against the New York City skyline. Nearer to Manhattan, the Lowery or Bliss Street stations will yield great views of subway trains and the Empire State Building. When you’re finished, return to Manhattan, disembark at Grand Central, and spend some time in America’s most famous railroad terminal.

There was just a story on how the traffic is the worst it ever been. So subway, all day every day.

Wear all the Boston attire you can. NYers love to show their love for visitors to their city. Talk about how great Chicago pizza is. Ask every runner if they are chezball.

Railfanning in Thomasville, NC and the Fire Truck Festival was awesome. I met some fire truck photographers from NC and Georgia. I also met up with a guy I just friended in Ocean City on Wednesday who is from PA. I'm working on the parade video right now.
