Default Awesome Jordan Youtube video and a plea

Just came across this and it gave me chills.

I'm a self proclaimed LeBron fanboy but I find Mike and LeBron equally amazing. Let's break down the walls, MJ fans. They're both transcendent athletes. Just enjoy what you're watching and I'll continue to marvel at old footage like this of the original 23.

We can argue all day long about who is better. The fact remains they played in two totally different eras and have different styles of basketball. One thing is for certain. They both are legends of the game that changed everything for the sport.

The 2 MJ's were worldwide cultural and media icons for the entirety of the 80's and 90's. Nothing like it. Cereal boxes, movies, tv shows, ads, merchandise, you name it. It was much bigger than just the sport.

Funny, you write like MJ played in the 50's.......I'd argue that LeBron changed the game very little compared to Steph Curry. LeBron is a beast but will never have the impact MJ did.

Let's face it, there's not really an argument anyway.

Hell LeBron is going to another game 7 this playoffs against a team with one borderline All Star. And we're supposed to believe he's on MJ's level. Yikes.

I'm not sure why LeBron even got brought in to this, should have just been an MJ appreciation post.

It's a LeBron fan that was educated through video just how good Jordan was back when basketball was more physical.

MJ sees all the flopping, fake injuries, and refusing to get back on defense when the refs are not in his pocket and knows he is THE GOAT.

It’s kind of funny when Lebron is playing like he is this postseason playing great and scoring 40 like 7 times and bringing his total to 25 40 point playoff games and everyone celebrates him like it’s never been done and then you look and MJ did it 40 times. So Lebron is like 60% of the way there. Lol

Op wants us to appreciate greatness and enjoy it. I do. I’d argue a bunch of Lebron fans need to watch more videos like this so they don’t feel insulted if everyone doesn’t proclaim Lebron #1. He has 6-7 peers. He just does. He’s in the group though.

This thread isn't an MJ vs LeBron thread. I know that's a tall task for BO to avoid. It's a LeBron supporter saying I appreciate the greatness of MJ too. I didn't get to see him play nearly as much as LeBron so videos like this are important for my history lesson.

I like to educate myself on all the greats of the games past. Each era is separated by players who dominated the game at that time and MJ dominated his more than anyone else based on what I saw in this video.

I had seen most of the footage from 91-98. I was most fascinated by the video before. I had no idea how popular he already was before that. I only knew about the championship years. Really cool to see how he got to that point.

He checked all the boxes, that’s why his cards are insane

Best player
Most exciting
Winner

My favorite quote from him was from the flu game

“If you give up they’ll give up.... And I didn’t want to give up”

I'm going to watch this and I probably get all nostalgic and emotional remembering what basketball was like before it became a glorified 3 point shooting contest where nobody is allowed to play defense and the best players all flock to play on the same teams.

Lol so true. I love basketball still, but yeah, it's changed into a three point fest.

To this day I still hate Michael Jordan, that's how great he was.
