Default Top cards that sold for absurd amounts for a period of time

Hey guys! Thought this would be an interesting thread topic. What I'm looking for is a card that at one point (maybe a matter of a month or months, but under a year) was selling for a high amount and now can be had for a significant percentage of that price. Let's try to keep it current and do post 2000's. If you want/remember you can also post what these cards were selling for at peak and what they sell for now. Also to keep it interesting let's have each member only do one card and it would be greatly appreciated to add a picture! I'll start.

2013 Bowman Chrome Cream of the Crop Mini Yasiel Puig

I beleive, if my memory serves me correctly, these were selling for around $60-$80. Please correct me if I'm wrong. And this is why I created the thread, these can be had currently for a $1 or $2. To add, a BGS 9.5 recently sold for $10 along with a PSA 9 at the same price.

RGIII's Topps chrome base RC's used to go for like 15-20. Now you can get a refractor for $0.99.

This and the top prospect card were going for STUPID money. Gems were going for over $100. This is when I first was getting started and it was just silly.

Then the overproduction came and

My LCS still has one that is a PSA 9 for $125.

I know there are plenty but this is the one that comes to mind for me for this reason exactly. I feel bad for anyone that bought in at that price and sat on them or didn't pull the trigger to sell. These cards tanked and they hit rock bottom hard.

The 2010 Bowman Strausburg chromes went crazy for a while. I can't remember what they got up to but it was complete madness. Made me start busting Bowman again for the first time since 2006 Bowman Draft.

Anything 2008 Longoria or 2004 Ryan Howard. Ryan Howard's Bowman Chrome Auto was a monster card in 2008.

Howard doesn't even have a chrome auto. Think it was the Bowman's best, and his 2003 base chromes.

The only certified RC auto card Howard has is the Bowman's Best. That is the monster of which you speak.

The card that comes to mind for me, unfortunately, I forget - there was a player who replaced Jeter at the beginning of the season a few years back when Jeter was injured. He did well and his cards' values multiplied hundredfolds.

Erick Almonte in '03 or so after Jeter hurt his shoulder in Toronto? Guys like that confuse me. Comes in for 30ish games, plays pretty well, not great but not bad by any stretch...then is never heard from again.

Ah yes, the Ryan Howard Bowmans Best Rookie Auto. That was my first real flip on eBay and the card that got me in to prospecting. I bought the card before he was called up for $5 on eBay when I worked with him in Syracuse playing against the Chiefs. I was managing the visiting clubhouse at that time and I just remember how huge the guy was standing next to me. He couldn't of been any nicer every time I was with him so I decided to buy his rookie card. I think a year later, I sold it for $600. No complaints here!

Some people accept Prospect Premieres too.

I'd go with Dontrelle Willis rookies.

The infamous Chris Shelton rush of 2006. He had a monster start to the season for the Tigers (like 9 homers in the first 2 weeks) and his cards were on fire. I remember selling some Playoff Honors RC for $10-$20 and Bowman Chrome refractors for upwards of $25. His Absolute auto was like $100 at one point! They're all quarter box fodder now.

The first BGS 10's of Corey Patterson and Adam Dunn 1999 Bowman Chrome RC's (just the base card, not Refractors/International/Gold) both sold for $4000 each. PSA 10 Bonds 1986 Fleer Updates were $4500 when there were five or six in the Pop Report and the first PSA 10 Kobe Skybox Z-Force RC sold for $8000+ as well. Ahhh, the early days of grading and low Pop Reports...

2014 Kris Bryant chrome base autos were selling upwards of $600 at one point. This was under the assumption the base autos were SSP and before the 2013 draft autos were released.

Under the same note I paid $600 for the 2013 draft blue ref auto of Bryant /99 and sold it for $2500 during his peak. Also bought hundreds of base paper and chrome base 2014 bowman rcs for like 50-75c and $1-2 respectively and sold them like $5-8 base and 12-15 chrome. Made a killing off of Bryant cards

On the flip side I sold the Mike trout card you see in my avatar for $700 which was high at the time. Now it's what? Like $10000+?
