The details about the burglary seem to point to a mental or substance abuse problem

Lol feel sorry for a man who probably grossed well over 100 mill during his career for playing a 'game?' I think a lot of us would like to have that problem.

Not a surprise. I saw a few of his post career interviews over the past few years and he didn't look good. Lost a lot of weight and just didn't look right. Plus he still ran with shady street characters and never progressed.

I remember pulling his 99-00 spx rc auto at my local shop back in the day. At the time it was my biggest hit ever. Now I keep it as a reminder to sell when the gettin's good.

All rookie buyers/investors... BEWARE

It's just sad to see how far he has fallen. One has to wonder if he's just cooked from heavy alcohol/drug abuse. He needs help right away, before he winds up dead.

Sad to see someone throw their life away and take what they had for granted

dated a girl who lived across the street from his houston home. He was very nice, friendly, and a good neighbor.

I've seen him every now and then at rockets games, even this season. in person he looks old but not as horrible as many of the internet pictures/mugshot/crack pipe shots make him out to be. I was hopeful he was turning his life around and am sad to hear about these setbacks.

I'll never understand this type of attitude. Why is it so hard to understand that someone would feel empathy for someone else who's life has gone to crap, regardless of how good they had it before?

Francis clearly has some major demons to deal with. Hopefully, he gets his life together. I'm sure he has a family that cares about him greatly.

I'd never wish evil on no one.

However, I:

1) Feel sorry for cancer patients or people that get gunned down as innocent bystandards

2) Don't feel sorry for people who inflict harm upon themselves

I wish the best for them, but I don't feel 'sorry' for them. Make sense?

I get what you're saying.... basically "it's semantics"....

but I agree w Steveo. It makes people sound insensitive when they aren't "sorry" for people who - due to their own fault or someone else's - are having a hard time in life.

Some people like the saying "you made your bed, now you get to sleep in it." I don't really like this saying.

I personally feel like people need mercy before judgment..... and that I probably need it as much as the next guy.... so I'm sure going to give it freely....

I hate seeing stories like this. It's sad to see especially if you've watched them play during their prime

Everyone has different views in life. It is what it is.

He could have learned a thing or two from Jordan Farmar. The dude took his money and invested in rental properties which he does very well off and the real question is who the hell is Jordan Farmar? A guy with high hopes that never panned out to being a successful top tier basketball player but he made enough money as a scrub player to invest wisely and make sure that he had long-term income that wasn't going to run out like these players such as Steve Francis have shown to be.

Doesn't Farmar still play in the NBA?

Edit* just checked and he's played in two games for the Kings this year. Dude actually had a pretty long career. I remember pulling his E-X auto when his stuff was worth something.

If he is, he's bench warming. I actually thought he was playing overseas

Yeah I think the Kings waived him.

Came here to rep Jordan Farmar. He played his heart out in the 2009-10 Finals.

Also, I think Francis might have inadvertently outed someone. Why did the owner of the BMW have their wedding ring in their car? Tinder hookup? lol
