Default Honus Bonus Fantasy Baseball Closed Shop Suddenly

They said July was going to be their last month last night at about 8:30 PM and this morning I saw they deleted their Facebook and Twitter.

Did anyone else participate in this?

I wonder how low Blowout will go on the boxes.

I didn't play in July because I was too late with my roster. I live on the WC and I needed to submit by whatever time on the EC.
Anyway, cool idea just really really flawed. You saw this coming during the first month if you followed the thread on their page.

Wow, that didn't last very long. I bought one of the Schoop cards for the hell of it, but that was it. I never played the associated fantasy game or anything.

We followed it and our smartest loyalest customer claimed it was not going to last, we thought it was a neat idea, but could see the issues.

It was short lived and was something new introduced at the National.

I guess the worst part really is that my Venturas just tanked. Lol.

Do you know if they actually followed through and paid their monthly winners?

I have to imagine there are people somewhere extremely pissed off about this today. I know it was not that popular as a whole, but if you calculated the cost just right… You probably could have won some money with this game. I thought long and hard about it but decided against it due to time constraints.

The owner of my LCS went HEAVY into it, and has won at least three months in a row to my knowledge, and has won a lot of the individual stat contests. I know that he made out like a bandit on this stuff. I think his total winnings so far are around $7,000, maybe more.

I'm sure he is not going to take this news well.

I won the June ERA award, it was $100 so I was happy about that. I missed setting up a July lineup and was watching to see when it would open for August and September, I was getting a bit worried because they didn't open up. I guess we have our answer.
