Default MLB Records

Realistically what current MLB records could you see being broken in the next, let's say, 5 - 10 years? Which player do you have breaking it?

Kershaw Lowest ERA in a Season
Kershaw Best W/L in a Season (Say 25-1, 1.12 era)

Save Streak

Homer Runs in a Season by Stanton

*Edit Read as what I want to see, that is somewhat fathomable***

You think Kershaw will beat Dutch Leonard's 0.96 ERA of 1914?

Now, I could see him breaking the career WHIP record and career H/9IP records.

Single season HR record. Aaron Judge. Per Mark McGwire.

Mark McGwire envisions bigger records for Aaron Judge: 'Watch out 73'

Honestly, didn't know what the record was, but I think if he can stay healthy for 28-30 starts, I could see low 1's so probably not the record, but 1.12 or something asinine.

Doubles in a season is doable.

Record is 67.

Even if Mark injects him personally, which i hear he has experience with, I don't ever see 73 being achievable considering Bonds was only half human when he did it, and he actually hit good pitching.

I'll say single season HR by Judge. If he can work on hitting that low and outside pitch in the off season, pitchers will be handcuffed. Hell, maybe he'll break the single season BB record.

I would take Stanton over Judge on the HR record. Stanton probably in the next 5 years will be out of Fl. What if he went to Coors! The top of the stadium would need netting

It took 44 years before JD Martinez to become the first ever 4 time weekly award winner in either or leagues in a single season. Player of the week award, nobody had ever won it 4 times in a season and that award has been around since 74.

I could see Stanton making a run for it as well. Can't see him going from the Marlins to the Rockies though. he had a great season but people tend to forget he's had his ups and downs in the past as well.

With the way these balls fly out now I think it’s more then likely that the single season HR falls in the next ten years.

are you guys serious? Clarify which HR record.. actually it doesn't matter. Judge and Stanton lack the plate discipline to have a shot. They didn't even lead their leagues in this sugar-coated IBB system. Votto and Trout did. If they ever became as dangerous as you hope them to be then they would never get enough official ABs to challenge any record.

Bonds walked 232 BB/41 SO in 2004. So stop that nonsense.

This! To put things in perspective, Babe Ruth averaged 86 strikeouts per 162-game season. Judge's average? 223. The record? 223. Oh yes, Tony Gwynn struck out 434 times...in his entire 20 year career. That's an average of 29 strikeouts per season.

Slow your roll there cowboy. A rookie smashing 52 in a single season is impressive. Oh, and people doubted he could do it during his slump. Mark McGwire had the record before did he not? What'd he end up doing? Yes he was on roids but the mere size of Judge makes up the difference. And btw I stated Judge would need to take away that low/outside corner from pitchers. Which with enough work could definitely happen. Wrong tree to bark up tough guy.

I think the fewest amount of animals running on the field during a season will be broken.

Least amount of fans injured by foul balls. Stadiums are going to have more nets than the U.S. Open.

So because they did not lead their league in IBB this year that means they can not ever reach the single season HR record. K
Bonds also did not break the home run record in 2004, it was 3 years earlier in which he had 177 BBs and 35 IBBS. He only hit 45 in hrs in the 2004 season.

The Rockies could never afford Stanton's contract, especially with the $$$ they are gonna have to shell out for Blackmon and Arenado in the next couple of years.
