Most likely they were selling 8x10s for dirt cheap. No offense to memorabilia dealers, but I don't trust any of them.

There was a dealer there selling a ton of 8x10’s for cheap and I hate to say it, but I immediately became suspicious.

I’m pretty sure I was standing at the exact booth shortly after they initially confronted the guy. It appeared as if the police had taken a few items to possibly get checked out by someone? The guy had some strong words like he had nothing to hide and they could call the FBI for all he cared lol

This wasn’t the booth selling all of the prints that people may be thinking of.

The guys name is Tony Podsada and is a well known forger. Mantles for $30 and Jordans for $40 may throw up a red flag or 2.

Outside the Lines traced the movement of some of the Ali-signed photographs that were posted on eBay.

Many of the Ali autographs, which were then authenticated by eBay sellers by GFA, come from South Florida dealer Tony Podsada, who runs a company called SCM.

"At one point, I had about 18,000 Ali autographs," Podsada said. "I have about 3,000 left, mostly on 4-by-6 and 5-by-7 photos."

Podsada said he obtained the Ali signatures from 1988 to 1993, when his business, My Favorite Players, was one of the heavyweights in the industry.

Podsada's items do not come with a certificate of authenticity. Disenchanted with the authentication business, Podsada said he merely offers buyers the assurance that it's a "decorative item only."

"I believe what I have is real, but I don't guarantee anything because I know too much," Podsada said.

Hmm...GFA a company founded by Stephen Rocchi, who by the way was the original founder and President of PSA. And upon leaving PSA he founded GAI along with Mike Baker-and I think most of us know how "good and reputable" they turned out to be before they eventually filed for bankruptcy.
So in my opinion Podsada isn't the only guilty party here. Maybe Rocchi should be looked into as well as it seems things haven't worked out too well for him since leaving PSA.

This is also interesting because I got a call from Megan from the National yesterday afternoon offering me a booth that had just become available. Long story short I had prior commitments.
Maybe that's a good thing because I wouldn't have wanted to set up with the stench of fake autos still lingering...

I am glad that this seller and his garbage were removed so quickly.

Please don't call the FBI. They maybe in on it. Knowing the ones in it now.

I saw the large empty booth and thought it was odd that a dealer was gone so quickly. I'm not into auto'd memorabilia, so didn't give it a close look at all, but this is crazy. Has anything like happened at past Nationals?

Seriously. Guy was way too cocky to think he could get away with fake autographs at a place like the National

I remember a dealer getting bounced for having a booth full of fake Ichiro patches. This was years ago

Exactly. I went to the National the last time it was in Cleveland. How people could spend money on these items is beyond me. I saw so many random items signed with either no COA or some garbage piece of paper that said it was legit.
