Default How do you display your cards?

So most of my cards are sitting in boxes in a closet, as I'm sure is the same with most of you.

Since I bought my house I turned one of the bedrooms into a game room. Both my wife and I have a ps4 and mounted tv and I've got my computer in the corner. I've been putting up all of my memorabilia around the room and had some extra shelves sitting around so I put them up for some of my PSA10s (as you can see by the drill and level sitting there).

Then in my living room I have what used to be an antique cabinet but I've repurposed it. Nearly everything in here is autographed and with the exception of the Kyrie basketball, walton basketball, embiid/wiggins floorpieces, and the Cedi cavs hat, all the autographs were gotten in person.

I want to see everyone's displays!!

Everything is in boxes, but I have a display case on the wall of my home office where I rotate cards in and out. Unfortunately tall boys don’t fit in the case, so ‘69 topps never sees the light of day.

I think I have that exact same display case! Those are really nice and I recommend them to anyone who wants to display their grades cards

That is awesome! I was going to have my dad make some shadow boxes for me. Did you make it or buy it? I've got a couple jerseys to put up

I bought it. It’s a pennzoni wall mount 50 card display case. Pretty good quality. I’m happy with it.

Semi-related question here...does anyone have good recommendations for a box to store cards in one touch mags? The standard cardboard boxes are a little too short and I have to lean all of them slightly in order to get the top on. Right now all my cards are in those standard cardboard boxes with 2, 3, or 5 rows since I don’t really have a good spot to display them. Those work great for completing sets or storing cards in penny sleeves or top loaders, but it would be nice to have a better storage box option for cards in a one touch.

Just do a search for “BCW 1600 ct shoebox”. One touches fit in the standard ones. They also have slightly bigger ones that fit graded cards, and even the semi-rigid holders that you need for submissions

I’m nervous about displaying my cards, was always told that light causes fading. Only thing I have out in the open are autographed baseballs in cubes.

I don't have any card display yet (small apt, and I'm kinda scared of UV exposure) but I did hang up my 2 jerseys in my living room. If I ever move into a house with a windowless spare room, I'll definitely want to have some displays like OP's, it'd be nice to let some cards breathe!

Is fading a concern just with sunlight? I’m thinking about displaying some cards in an interior room without windows.

The display case I have is 100% UV acrylic and I have it out of any direct sunlight. The cards are well protected.

What brand if you don’t mind me asking? And are PSA & BGS slabs really UV protected, as well as mags which claim to be?

It’s pennzoni. They have two options when purchasing. 100% UV acrylic is included and 100 % UV Special Acrylic for direct sunlight is extra.

Regardless, I don’t have the cards in direct sunlight. I also have the display case mounted in a corner where it doesn’t even get direct fluorescent light. Of course, locking them up in a safe or closet is the safest. But what fun is that?

Ok thanks for that info! I’ve been eyeing the pennzonis and noticed the extra $45 per for UV. Since mine will be in a room with no sunlight it doesn’t sound like I need to add that.

Default How do you display your cards?

Just a note. The “100% UV” acrylics are usually only 100% for UVA light, not UVB. You need specialist coatings for the real deal. (Plus given enough time, fluorescent light can fade/yellow stuff too.)

That's awesome. My cards aren't worthy of anything like that. I just keep mine in a binder.

Not everything, but you get the idea. Bookshelves were $25 from Walmart (love them!). I have a tv in there too, so when the wife isn't home, there's really no need to go anywhere else in the house lol. Luckily all of my sports teams have the same colors.

When I was more into comics, I did a lot of research on this subject. I got mixed information but am not taking any chances. According to some, no amount of UV protection can block out 100% light. There was also the mention of light from light bulbs which mentioned they have the same effect but at a much slower rate. It may take a long time for the items to be affected, but I'm fine taking the cards/ comics out for a few hours to look at them every once in awhile.

Agree. Nothing beats locking them away out of all light. But I enjoy looking at them and I take all precautions within reason. I accept the trade offs.

I have a room and a hallway for my sports related items. Most my cards are in boxes but there are some I choose to display. On the bookcase and in the glass case I utilize these plastic stands which are really nice.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The glass case is from Ikea.
http://www.google.com/shopping/produ...=1577243322863

The cards are just held up by those little BCW stands.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The bookcase is from Ashley's.

And these are the card display cases.

Everything in boxes for me. I’ve used to have a shelf in my office for my cards, but after a few weeks I’ve decided to put them in storage boxes to make sure UV doen’t kill them.

Some really nice display cases, or rooms for the matter in this thread. I am a little hesitant of having them out on display due to fading but leaning towards finding a nice UV protected display case of some sort. Currently all my graded cards are in boxes and raw ones are in penny sleeves and within a binder.
