Default Card Collection Insurance

Does anyone have any advice on insuring a collection? Providers, rates, appraisals, etc? I got back into collecting and realized I have other things insured that are worth less my collection. Just wanted to see what the community does to insure collections. Thanks.

Collectibles Insurance or Collect Insure is very good and who I use. They are based out of Bala Cynwyd, PA. You can email them or call and they will take care of it for you. Also, one perk is when you sell and ship cards they are also covered.

Yep, they're the best! All my WWII stuff is covered by them.

I use them also. Absolutely first rate. Tremendous customer service. You call and actually speak with a human who helps. Like the good old days.

How do they value items with a limited market? A majority of my stuff is low serial numbered 90s stuff. Some of these cards you see for sale once every 2-5 years so there is not always an accurate way to appraise certain items.

Have you ever had to use them for a claim during shipping? And if so, was there anything specific you needed to do to make sure it was covered? I have them also, but haven't needed that yet, but nice to know it's there.

I haven't made a claim but be sure to read the policy. Shipping coverage is tiered based on the method of shipment (first class packages are only covered up to $200 unless they have signature confirmation, packages with shipping confirmation are insured up to $2,500, anything higher needs to be sent express/registered mail with signature confirmation, etc.). Of course your policy may be different but that's what I've got.
