The purpose of this Thread is to see who the Forum considers will be the BIGGEST STAR in the game who is currently 27 or under and has already shown what he can do.. (No prospects)
NOT INCLUDING THE OBVIOUS TOP 3.. ACUNA/SOTO/TATIS so we can have some more precise counts on the Second Tier guys.. Consider: Talent/Team/Championships/Marketing/Age-Experience/Likeability/Injury concerns/Dedication, etc Card Values can be discussed for fun, but your selection shouldn't be based on this. HERE IS THE POLL INCLUDING THE TOP 3: https://www.blowoutforums.com/showthread.php?t=1425059 |

You can never say never, and all that jazz, but I think the answer is none of the above.
A few of these guys--Bellinger, Lindor, and *maybe* Seager--are currently on HOF trajectories, with MVPs, rings, and/or high WAR totals, and yet they aren't superstars right now. Bellinger is too inconsistent, Seager too injury prone, and neither is the best player on their team. I don't see that changing any time soon, with Mookie in the fold for the long term, and barely missing the cutoff for this poll at age 28. Meanwhile, Lindor is more "very good" than great, and he's a man without a fan base, as Indians fans know he's on his way out. He looks like a future Manny Machado to me. A very productive player, but not a big star. The rest of these guys still need to take major steps forward in terms of production or consistency in order to have a shot at stardom. Maybe one or two of them will put it together, but by that time, will the hype machine have moved on to the shiny new thing? I think it's pretty likely. Just my 2 cents. |

I don't know about THE biggest, but I like Bichette/Guerrero Jr./Robert/Bohm in no particular order and for a variety of reasons.
Alvarez as an honorable mention. I also went on the younger side thinking that the criteria was in ~5 years who will be the biggest star under 27, but I misread.

I wouldn't be shocked if Eloy is the better overall hitter than LouBob. He seems to have a pretty good personality also. Gotta see if that translates to marketing well. Vlad Jr and the Blue Jays could make noise too.
Bellinger has already accomplished so much though. He's also with a potential dynasty team.

I went with Seager. If there had been a "none of the above" choice, I would have picked that.

I see Soto and Vlad having a dynamic similar to Pujols and Miggy.
Soto being left-handed and starting at age 19 might put him a little ahead of Pujols’ career trajectory, while Vlad being slowed by weight issues might put him a little behind Cabrera’s. But year-to-year, it will be fun to watch them put up big offensive numbers. Being a Yankee, Gleyber doesn’t have to be the best player to be the biggest star. But I’m not so sure he’ll rise high enough to be in the discussion. If Acuna and Tatis remain leadoff hitters, it’s hard to see either of them being the top guy. The nice thing is that there are a lot of names to choose from. The game is in good hands. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

As a Giants fan, I see this as being a real possibility. Betts is fantastic, too. Bellinger has been great, at times (as well as not so great). But Seager is the Dodger I fear the most. What we saw this past season and in the postseason is the Seager we’ve been expecting to see. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sweet another approach to “who should I invest in please tell me” topic.

My breakdown (in terms of talent):
Tier 1 (equivalent to Mookie and pre-knee injury Yelich) : Bichette, Eloy, Luis Robert, and Bellinger Tier 2 (equivalent to Harper and Arenado): Vladdy Jr, Seager, Torres, Lindor Tier 3 (The Trevor Storys of the bunch): Devers and Alonso Don't know abt Arozarena, yet, but I think he could be a borderline Tier 1 guy for a few years

Vlad. Genes are really strong. Look at Bonds, Griffey, Tatis, etc. And now we have Bichette as well. Can’t deny the genetic factor.

In MLB currently... Robert I think has the freakish tools to become a superstar even if he hits under .275
I think Wander and Julio though are the big two that are going to be the next Tatis, Soto, and Acuna level guys Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk |
