Default Apparently Facebook is cracking down on personal & group breaks.

I was watching a group break last night and the breaker was talking about this subject. He also mention PayPal as well and all the charge backs are mainly coming back from the card sector. So my guess is the 2 companies are working together in some kind of way and there shutting Facebook groups down.He did mention its mainly the groups that are more of a gamble with a wheel, cards, and dice.He also mention the way people are paying for these breaks and how sellers are getting paid. For me sadly I am going be pulling most of my resources out of PayPal because it’s a hassle anymore.

I had a couple pending transactions that required me to speak a human being. The lady on the other end had an interesting way of asking me questions about what I was buying. It was nothing gambling related but it did sound like she wanted clarification.

I'm not a fan of many of those gambling groups.

Every single time I have bought a card or someone has bought a card from me and put Luis Garcia or Juan Soto in the comments, it has been flagged and the funds have been held. I have had to explain who both of them are on every occasion and also provide their birth dates. So strange...

People must be using PayPal for some shady stuff...

From what i heard anything being paid gift in large amounts is going to be red flagged and looked into more be it receiving or sending, the irs is catching on to all the online group breaking and seeing the amount of money and in alot of instances no taxes being paid on it.

So pretty much anyone joining or hosting group breaks, razzes, paying with gift, not filing taxes, the irs is starting to look into this more and paypal and other payment forms are going to help because they aren't receiving their fees.

Group breaking and razzes are online gambling and the government and other entities aren't getting their share and they are gonna crack down and hopefully whoever they go after hopefully they have paperwork ready from the previous five years especially if big money is involved

A lot of people are getting their paypal shut down for gift payments but they need to target it at people who razz cars without a title for example

Thank god. Now we don’t have to hear the whining about fees from the entitled losers ripping off PayPal anymore. Good job ruining this guys.

I see an increase in “net” demands coming from sellers.

It’s gotten to the point where gift is the expected form of payment on Facebook. I’ve had to back out of multiple deals where the seller wouldn’t take g&s even if I covered fees

Avoiding taxes, lack of understanding, laziness, expecting other people to do your work.

Those are people whom I typically avoid.

Yep, I have stopped buying for this very reason- G&S ONLY for me, even if I have to pay more for fees

I agree. It is one of the things I love about the marketplace here. No need to argue over it. G&S is the rule.

So quick question.....if I sell something to someone in person at a show and accept G&S, how do I prevent a charge back from the person? There is no "shipping" or "proof of delivery".

Are we talking about the scammer group admin who tried to razz out his car for $20k? lol

That was such a disaster.

IMO taking a huge risk accepting paypal for g/s, then hand delivering. or doing deal in person for the exact reason you said. If its pp you need proof of shipping. Otherwise its gotta be a cash deal imo.

I’ve been saying for years that breakers should start moving to crypto only payments. Why involve a middle man like PayPal or a credit card company that can screw you over on chargebacks? Once the larger breakers start doing it more and more customers will download coinbase and get in line.

That is when you should be signed up for that service they offer for show vendors and even people having garage sales.

Was it a F&F transaction? I know some people use PayPal to hide taxable income because when unemployment, welfare, or IRS ask to report income, services like PayPal aren’t normally considered, checked, or listed by default, at least like your bank account is, since PayPal acts sort of like an unofficial bank. It seems like an easy solution for unsavory types to attempt to commit fraud that way.
