2021 Topps NOW
Hi again everyone, we've made it to 2021. Politics and Disease aside, thank goodness we've had this forum to take our minds off what's happening outside our little quarantine bubbles.
As we enter into the 6th season of Topps NOW, it is amazing to think how much has happened since that inaugural set archiving the Cubs Championship 2016 Campaign. The countless autograph cards of each year's hot rookie. The hopes of what relic would appear on parallel cards. Will a buyer manage to land a parallel card? WILL THE AUTOGRAPH CARDS EVER SHOW UP??? There's something different about collecting Topps NOW and the group of folks who stick with it, many of whom I've met at events and at the ASG; many whom I haven't met yet but had conversations on here. At this point, I, along with all other Friends of NOW, am still awaiting the plan for the year. A note had been sent to our Topps NOW facilitator "Jeeves" and the team about a few items, no response prior to this post, so I'll add it later since we are almost to February already. Figured we'd get the new thread going. So this will be the same as the other years going forward, the place to talk NOW, the daily cards, trends, shipping issues, table cloth relic cards, errors... all the good stuff. But while we get ready for delivery of the annual Trout promo card in advance of RTOD sets, in 5 full years of this program, what is your favorite NOW card acquired and what's your holy grail a bot beat you to it you're still looking for or wish you had? The Covid protocols made it easy to spend more time at home and sort cards and put them in protectors. I was glad I had amassed some sleeves and mag cases before supplies disappeared. I still have two shipments on backorder until summer from my usual supplier. But along the way I had started taking pics of some and putting them on my site, then eventually will be selling off dupes of a lot of NOW and items starting from the mid-90's. Hey guys, dumb question here... I have over 21000 loyalty points and have zero clue how to redeem them. Every time I get the email to use them, I follow the link and it just takes me to Topps Now. Is there anything I can use them for other than Topps Now, and how to I go about redeeming them? Thanks.

The coupon can actually be used for 1951 Topps x Blake Jamieson autos as well.
At least, it was possible in the past 2 waves, and I assume they will continue that trend that for wave 3 and 4. However, the coupon cannot be used on the base set itself, just the autos.

What is up with the #WeatherStationMoon card? Can't find much information on this besides a couple of Tweets. No one using the hashtag on Twitter. This project seems like it was announced last year sometime. So why the card now?
Also, the proceeds are being donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities, not the actual WeatherStationMoon project? So confused. |

Not an easy task to pick a favorite out of 5 years of cards, but for me it has to be the 2017 Road To Opening Day Mike Trout.
I really like the photograph used, and the limited print run of only 85 copies just adds to the appeal, even if it does mean they rarely, if ever, come up for sale. I know there's no signature or relic, but in 10+ years when he retires I think it will be one of his most sought after cards. |
