Default Is anyone interested in Beckett registry sets?

Does anyone have or is going for top Beckett registry sets, either by year, player or team?

Recently I emailed Beckett customer service about their graded registry contest (the page just says COMING SOON on their website).
I received a response saying that they "may have some contest in the future", and that no details were available for now.

What do you like or dislike about the Beckett registry and what can they do to improve it?

My pile of things I've reported, even common sets, that won't add to the registry grows with every return. I've had 5 card submissions return and at least one card's serial # won't go in the registry. I can type the serial # into the look up and get all of the information, but it won't port over to the registry.

To answer your question, I have #2 Frank Thomas registry and #1 Drew Brees registry and my submissions reflect that. I'm also working on 1959 Three Stooges and 1985 Garbage Pail Kids sets. A lot of those are outstanding from 2020. The current registry under my username for those two looks slim but when things do start popping I expect it'll be worth showing off.

I had some interest in putting complete HG OPC sets from the 70s together, but decided to just focus on star players, rookies and quality cards.

The cards from that era are pretty scarce at the higher-end scale, so I'm content with select cards of prime HOFers. It's a major project to put a complete set together.

I've noticed that several BGS cards that I've purchased (80s hockey) don't appear with their particular serial number in the population report. To me having an updated pop report is the other side of the coin for a good registry. I have about 10 cards that do not appear.
I'm quite sure they are real and not fakes (most of them are commons or B-level players, so no one would try to counterfeit those).

If Beckett ever wants to get serious about competing with PSA, they should make sure their pop report is up to date. I'd be pretty ticked if I paid a premium on a card that appeared to have greater scarcity because of neglect on the part of BGS to enter some cards and then find out that others existed. That's rather unfair to their customers.

I'm doing all of my PC grading with Beckett now, permanently (unless their horrible leadership/ownership leads to complete collapse). Always preferred them anyway, but screw PSA - sorry Nat.

Any recent experience with the registry? I'm curious as I'll be doing a lot of new set building

From what I see it looks quite comprehensive but underutilised

Finally replying to your question (I have another account here).
I sold virtually all of my Beckett cards a few years ago on 4sharpcorners.
I didn't feel good about the fact that they graded so many sheet cut cards.
I mainly collect PSA, but will still buy the odd card from other graders if it's quality high end vintage. Was very pleased with the results from auctions, as the prices are much lower now. I sold about $4,500 in mostly Beckett graded 80s OPC hockey, and never looked back.

I really wish PSA would give us a decent special on vintage again.
I have about 40 cards ready to submit but am waiting for a drop in price.

I also left Beckett because I received horrible customer service trying to enter cards in the registry that would not come up as though they didn't exist. First I spoke with some exhausted IT guy in India, who had no knowledge and interest in the hobby or solving any problems, then when I spoke to a manager in NY over the phone, who was very arrogant, and questioned the integrity of the slabs, that perhaps they were counterfeit, told me that they would have to regraded to go into the system - they wanted me to spend my money because of their incompetence and technical issues. Screw them.
Add in the Black label employee scandal, and I had enough. I hear they don't even answer the phone anymore - fading into irrelevance, with a shrinking slice of the modern card market. Pfffft.
