With the amount of these easily identifiable rare vintage cards with discernable markings, can you imagine how many 2011 Trout updates, 2018 Acuna Batdowns and 86 Jordans are trimmed and graded as 10s? I wouldnt touch any of them.

312, would you say that most of the molested Cracker Jacks are coming from a single source? It seems to me that the types of recuts on the cards (except for a few examples) are pretty similar.

Also, I noticed that one of the cards (1915 CJ Jack James, PSA 8) was purchased from Goodwin and resold as a trimmed SGC 9 through Greg Bussineau. I think this is significant in that Dave Forman's brother Steve worked closely with Greg for many years and did most of the buying and submitting for him. Steve also appears on the PSA Insider's list as a known trimmer.

From the PSA Insider:

Below is a list of trimmers that have had extensive coaching directly from graders. Most have been working their scam for over 2 decades and still submit cards by the stack. Aside those listed here, every major auction I know of employs card doctors. I’d estimate 60% or higher of all cards graded by the perceived legitimate TPG’s have been altered. Yes the volume is that high from trimmers, the people listed below submit in the thousands yearly to maintain their price point. I know this is not everyone, maybe 25-50% of what I’d call professional trimmers. These are just the ones I know of.

Alan Green____

Alex Mancini (Associates w/ Kevin Burge, Vinny Ho)

Anthony Fernando (Associated w/ Johnny Zhu)

Bill Goodwin (Associates w/ Rick Changie)

Bob Grisset

Bob Krowitz

Brian Deer

Brian Drent (Associates w/ Tony ____ (from Michigan))

Dave Bailey (Used to be a buyer for Dmitri Young. Associates w/ Joe Tuttle, Dmitri Young)

Gary Moser (Associates w/ Joe (Chet) Woods, Gerry Schwartz, Scottie Foreman)

Gerry Schwartz (Associates w/ Scottie Foreman, Gary Moser)

Jason Koontz (sp) (Purchased SCD’s grading equipment after their TPG service went defunct.)

Jeremy Bachman

Joe (Chet) Woods (Associates w/ Gary Moser)

Joe Tuttle (DaVinci – known for being able to completely replace a missing corner. Also purchased the original cutting blades from Topps during their garage sale. Associates w/ Dave Bailey, Dmitri Young)

Johnny Adams Jr. (Associates w/ Wayne Varner)

Johnny Zhu (Associated w/ Anthony Fernando)

Jon Perry (Worked at Lelands for a period)

JP Cohen (Also had previously served time for defrauding charity. Associates w/ Gary Tauscher, Dan Wulkin)

Kevin Burge (Associates w/ Alex Mancini, Vinny Ho)

Michael Chesnutis

Rick Changie (Retired, Associates w/ Bill Goodwin)

Robert Block

Scottie [sic, Steve] Foreman (I’ve always found SGC’s reputation among vintage collectors rather humorous as this is how the company was able to meet payroll for over a decade. For years SGC did not make money. Scottie was just the submitter, big brother had the magic touch. Associates w/ Gary Moser, Gerry Schwartz)

Tony ____ (from Michigan. Associates w/ Brian Drent)

Vinny Ho (Associates w/ Alex Mancini, Kevin Burge)

My gosh. That list is even longer than the cast of characters in Operation Bullpen. And it's nowhere near complete... many of the names we know from BODA's other threads do not even appear on it.

Many thanks for posting that. Hope it helps out more than a few collectors who would otherwise be swindled.

We should keep a running tally of the names on the list that have been outed by BODA. I bet the PSA Insider is going to end up being pretty close to, if not at, 100% by the time the FBI investigation is finished.

Scottie Foreman is a mistake. The reference may be to Steve Foreman, or even to Dave. Oh OK I now see the bolded explanation.

The same supply chain shortages that catastrophically ended the availability of rulers in California must now be affecting distribution in Florida.

Any buyer at this point who blindly bids in Heritage auctions needs to reassess and ask himself (and the auction house) a simple question: who's the consignor?

This problem is never going to go away without greater transparency.

Yes, that's my thought as well.

What's it going to take for Heritage to pull the cards from auction?

Derek obviously can tell if these cards are altered.

If he dosen't know, he can also check with his son at SGC and find out who submitted the altered cards. Maybe have the certifications pulled.

Any that were graded prior to late 2011, Derek may have graded.

I wonder if every morning at PSA, at the top of Joe Orlando's in-basket, are placed the most recent examples of altered PSA-graded cards that were outed. Included with this list are the dates, grader(s), submitters, and the rest of the cards in the submission. I imagine Joe will then call the heads of PSA's ongoing investigation team into his office and read them the riot act.

Never get cheated.

Two of the three graders who "passed" most (all?) of these trimmed 1915 Cracker Jacks while employed by SGC, now work for REA. I think this should bring collectors to ask the management at REA why they have these two graders on staff. Were they compromised like some of the graders at Beckett or were they just plain incompetent? It's also important because REA likely knows who submitted ALL of the trimmed cards in this thread. They've always painted themselves as one of the few "good" auction houses. Now is their opportunity to do some good for the industry. Release the name(s) of the Cracker Jack molester(s).
