I’m sure this has been mentioned somewhere at some point, but I cannot believe how much people are (over)paying for these inserts.
These are $2-3 at most, but the design is a super convincing portrayal of a case hit unless you look closely at the border. It even goes as far as saying “Topps Certified Autograph” or “Game Used Memorabilia”. However, the back says a reproduction of such. Yes, the onus is on the buyer to be aware of what they are bidding on, but time and time again, I am seeing $50-100+ winning bids. It does not help when sellers do not clarify that they are common inserts, and even go as far as adding “auto”, “patch”, “knob”, etc... to the description. Simply search completed sales under “2021 topps through the years”. What a world. To be fair, most of the super high bids came from April or earlier, but this is just wrong on many levels. Not a case of one or two foolish bidders getting caught up in the moment. Last edited by cjraleigh; 05-09-2021 at 08:48 PM. |

I had noticed that too. I was thinking at first oh maybe they had some auto versions and thats why they were at those prices.
Once I looked closer I realized... Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk |

Your link is the red parallel out of 10 yo.
I could see a Kershaw collector being willing to pony up $65 for that |
