Agreed. I’m sure there are plenty of gay players, and it’s good he doesn’t feel the need to hide it. And the donation to the Trevor Project is a plus, they do good work.

You know there’s quite a few in the league. But his financial numbers seemed way off on hard knocks.

There’s a reason he’s the first one to do it. I can’t imagine how difficult it is to be gay in a hyper-masculine professional football locker room, especially when many players come from Southern, highly religious communities where being gay remains far from accepted. Coming out must have been incredibly hard and I don’t think for a second this was for attention.

Agreed. You can do something for attention or you can do it because you feel a responsibility to not hide something for the benefit of others (who don’t have the luxury of being an NFL player). That’s why I applauded the Trevor Project donation. That’s a specific place to donate to, with a specific mission.

He is well within his rights to post whatever he wants, for whatever reason. Some of us may or may not agree with his sexual preference, but that should not determine the intent of his post.

For example: I am a straight male. I don't think anyone cares other than my wife and certainly no one cares why I posted it.
