Default Buffalo Sabres vs Philadelphia Flyers Playoff thread

I wouldn't normally do this, but I am so excited for this series, every time I think of it, I want to throw up! Prediction Sabres in 4, kickin' it Brad May style!

I say Flyers in 6, but I wouldn't be surprised either way. Miller can really steal the show in this one. The Sabers have enough scoring that they can make it really interesting. This series, Rangers v Caps, and Ducks Preds are very interesting first round series.

I think they go:
Caps in 6
Flyers in 6
Preds in 6

First round should be a lot of fun.

Flo, I feel your excitement !! Its amazing when a new owner comes to town and will pay players !! I'm just worried about Miller. If he is healthy,I think Sabres win this series !!!

Your only right about Caps series. Preds can't score and Flyers goaltending is questionable !!

Philly scores over 3 goals a game and has one of the top 3 offenses in the league. Anaheim gives up a ton of goals and Nashville only lets up roughly 2.3 a game. I think my picks are pretty close. Like I said, these are going to be the closest series and wouldn't be surprised either way.

We can only hope Carcillo continues to pat Gerbe on the head to keep on motivating him...

umm so 2.6 GPG (Preds) is really that much worse than 2.8 GPG (Ducks)?? thats what 1/4 a goal less a game...wow thats really sayin much

not to mention the Preds major players missed time, Erat and Legwand both missed 18 games

not ot mention the Preds are 3rd in the league in goals against (2.32) to Anaheims bottom 3rd (2.84)

i think id give a slight edge to the Preds

My wife and I had Seasons back in 06-07 when we won the Presidents Trophy. The bad luck was I lost my job and could not afford to renew. Now I have been in the Blue and Gold club for 2 years now and nothing. This is killing me. I will go to the semis and the finals if that happens. But I give Buffalo this one for sure. I see a few things that can happen here. I say Vanek and Pominville turn it up and Gerbe will tough in front of the net. As for the netminders Miller starts but if he gets into trouble I can Enroth stepping it up if need be. If The Sabres don't make it past the 2nd round mark my words Mr. Pegula will make changes.

I've had tickets for 3 years now and I think you'll see changes next year and you will see the sabres move on tothe 2nd round this year after that who knows

If the Flyers get their asses in gear, they should wrap this up in 5 games, 6 tops. Even with Miller in goal, who is IMO the best going today, the Flyers depth should present all kinds of match-up problems for the Sabres defense. Only thing working in the Sabres favor besides Miller is the Flyers power play has sucked balls. If that gets going, this series won't go past five games. Lots of IFs but what do you expect with the way the Flyers pretty much coasted through the last 30 games of the season only showing up for a handful of games.

The injuries to Buffalos roster are a concern to me. Grier, Leopold, Sekera, Hecht. Plus I don't like Brad Boyes at center. He belongs on the wing.

Damn it, I hate working second shift. Missed a hell of a game. I know a lot of people in Philly aren't taking the sabres seriously, maybe they should start.

A lot of crying coming from the Flyers, especially from their captain.... Pronger comes back but Carter goes out.

Myers was possessed last game, looks like it's going to be a race to the finish line in this one. Momentum is in Buffalo's favor, gotta keep it up!

I'm not a fan of either team but I don't see what all the talk about Tyler Myers is about. He looks so damn slow it's not even funny.

Is that a serious comment? For a person who is 6'7" I think he moves quite well. Great puck handling, pretty good speed. It's not like he's a slug out there. He had a rough start to year 2, but got better as the season progressed. He starting to get his edge, too, so if you don't think he's soo good now, just wait as he'll bury your star forward trying to get close to Miller.

When he is skating with confidence he is fairly quick for his size and extremely agile. His skating is his second strongest asset, next to his reach. He has been slumping on an off this year and playing tentatively, which is likely why he appears slow.

Philly's goaltending is embarrassing.
