We completed the deal off Ebay using PayPal and Discover. His Ebay account (hamaze) is no longer registered. Long story short, the card was fake and the autograph was a fake. I am not sure if the BGS Raw Card Review label is fake, but I'll find out at the National.

The seller offered a full refund if I was unhappy and that was obviously part of the scam. It's been a nightmare dealing with Paypal, Discover and the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau to get my money back. The seller went ghost and blocked me on WhatsApp, Phone, email, Facebook and cancelled his Ebay Account. I am stuck with a fake card, disputes with PayPal/Discover/CFPB, multiple Police Reports and a pile of stress. If I can save one person from dealing with this person, I will feel good getting some satisfaction out this. But I am will not stop until I am made whole.

I am not sure how much information I am allowed to post on these forums. If it is too much, please let me know. I have no idea if he has/had a Blowout account name, but I know he did frequent Facebook groups and hope to help someone else avoid being scammed.

Ebay Seller Name: hamaze

Ebay Seller Location Per Account: Woodland Hills, California (He also has residence in Australia allegedly)

Facebook User Name: Juan Gar https://www.facebook.com/juan.gar.986227 (posted because we did talk on Facebook about sports card, Michael Jordan cards in particular)

PayPal information: Juan Garcia, 450 Canning Street, Carlton
North, Victoria 3054

Gmail: eyespyplay@gmail.com

Phone: 61 466400640

Please be safe and be smarter than me!
Did you contact him through eBay and then do the deal off eBay?

I was the second place bidder on the item and he contacted me via Ebay because the top bidder (likely shilled) couldn't afford it. We completed it off Ebay. A terrible, stupid, greed-driven mistake by me to save a few bucks.

Did you pay friends and family or goods?

Sucks it happened to you but you seem to admit you were part of the problem on this one. Hopefully it works out for you and you learn a lesson from this. I’m sure this guy is already scamming more people with new names.

Paid via Goods using Discover via PayPal. I'm just trying to save someone else the headache I've dealt with. I have a pretty good BS meter but even I went against my normal process because I just had to have the card. Pigs get slaughtered. I wish I knew about this forum before.

Can't you file an INAD case through Paypal and get your money back?

I did file with PayPal and it was denied. That is a major part of the headache of dealing with this issue.

I'll post pics when I get home.

Beckett graded it as an authentic auto and card. You would think grading companies would have to be responsible for some of these issues. Especially if the card is slabbed. With RCR, I guess the label could be faked. I’ve never had one but how easy it to remove the card and then put a fake one in and reseal it? RCR gets to put the fine print on the back to regrade it which saves them it seems

I am taking the card to the National to get Beckett's opinion. If it is fake label, they did a great job on it.

Hahaha OMG. Look at the autograph!!!!

Straight up fake as fuk and such a bad attempted fake.

I wouldn't care if this card was slabbed, I'd still know it's faked.

Still shocked there's people in the hobby allowing themselves to get their pants pulled down and spanked this hard.

Big news broke today, and I search the beginning of this thread and I found that address to be the same one link to one of the scam that I was involved in roughy 18 months ago. I’ve got a snap of one of the scammers in person. That photo is my profile photo on my Facebook page “8088edge”. There’s a police case opened here in Sydney Australia. Any further info would help catching this person or group! Thank you all !!!

Bought MJ jersey. Photoshopped photos. Set up a fake charity to give legitimacy. Got it authenticated and sold it.

Long part below

BREAKING NEWS This could be one of the BIGGEST stories in HOBBY HISTORY. It’s a long story though, so stick with me here. This Michael Jordan game-worn jersey recently sold at auction for $26,896. Shortly thereafter, authentication company MeiGray announced that they had photo-matched this jersey to Game 3 & 4 of the 1996 Eastern Conference Finals. “Photo-matching” is a method by which game-worn items are authenticated by comparing the item against actual photos from the event…it’s considered the industry gold standard. MeiGray claimed that they had received private photos from the Tony Ranze Foundation, which allowed them to photo-match this jersey to the games from the 1996 ECF. There’s just one problem…the foundation was a phony. Tony Ranze was a photographer who passed in 2006, and his own son reached out to

[@darrenrovell](https://twitter.com/darrenrovell)

to tell him the foundation was completely fake. So here’s what happened…someone bought this jersey for $27k, then set up a fake foundation, made photoshopped images to make it look like MJ wore this jersey at the 1996 ECF, and then sent the photos to MeiGray while posing as a foundation that supported children’s cancer research. And MeiGray took the bait. They authenticated the jersey, making it worth over $1M! Now HERE is where the story takes a WILD twist… It is alleged that the owner of this jersey, and perhaps the person behind the entire fraud, was the owner of the “cardprn” accounts. This account has over 112,000 IG followers. A tweet from August 14th, along with now-deleted IG posts, shows cardprn with the jersey. It also appears that he just disabled his twitter account @cardprn. Cardprn is known as the single biggest industry “watch-dog.” He’s arguably the biggest voice in the hobby on all of IG. So not only does this story deeply damage MeiGray’s credibility, and arguably do damage to the entire game-worn market…but it may also implicate one of the biggest voices in the hobby in an entirely intricate & shameless scam. I have reached out to cardprn for comment, and have not yet heard back. If you have any more info about this story, please reach out to me. There’s certainly more to come here. Great work by

uncovering this. What a wild story.
